We spent 4 days and 3 nights on the timberline trail around mount hood CCW. It was an amazing trail, and experience. The vegetation in the area is beautiful, and very diverse. The views of Mount Hood along the trail were very impressive. Everyone should do this trail!
One of my favorite Go-To places is Clackamas River Corridor. It's beautiful, despite the burn scars. There are so many trails, day use river spots, and kayaking places. Not to mention, lots of pretty rocks to collect! Today, we saw numerous huge Salmon spawning!
Spent 2 full days exploring by vehicle. 1st day I took Clackamas hwy south of Estacada and stopped at the pullouts. This is a beautiful scenic drive and has plenty of camping along the way. The second day I drove the loop around Mt. Hood. This also a beautiful scenic drive. This area is full of so much nature and I need to go back.
The Molalla River Corridor is one of the most beautiful that you will ever see. I. So lucky to have grown up with this as my "stomping grounds".

Clear Lake and Trillium lake are gorgeous!!!!. Clear lake was beautiful but the portapotty was unusable and the worst trashed one I had ever seen...Trillium wasn't great but at least it was usable.
This place is a must visit! Absolutely stunning! Everything about this area made us want to come back again. The trails, mossy trees, and obviously Mount Hood itself are amazing! You 100% must drive up to the historic Timberline Lodge to get a perfect view of Mount Hood and visit the hotel that was featured in the classic movie the Shining. 11/10 stars.
Pinnical trail was tough with miles of downed trees covering the trails giving us hurdles to get over. A bog to get thru too. ( Ohh my wet feet. ) but the views above the clouds were worth it!
Snow a lot till April. Beautiful nature.
Always Cold but you can play to winter sports in this area. Ski, snowboard, snowshoes, sleigh and hike so much fun stuffs! But you need to drive a truck better than Sedans.
Because They have a lot of dirt roads. Sometimes they have snow at summer time too.
At a minimum a forest should have trees and mountain views. MHNF lives up to these expectations. Highway 35 is a total gem. Lots of side roads to get lost on and glacial erratics - which are as wonderful as they sound.
It’s really quite unreal. Been up on the National Forest lately? It’s Special. Sure. Do you know it’s your Forest! don’t you forget that. Please try to leave it like you would want to find it, as in a tidy wood, devoid of graffiti, poop bags and busted stuff.
Do you know about pack it in, pack it out?
How about leave no trace? Some of these things are found on the Interwebs. Study up and ENJOY!
