Sol De Mayo

Had a delicious lunch after church at Sol De Mayo tacos! This small restaurant has enormous flavor and wonderful and fresh dishes right near the heart of Dalton! We loved everything we purchased! We got a wonderful gluten free taco bowl, a chicken (pollo) quesadilla grande with cactus salad on the side, kids taco fry with agua Fresca pineapple, steak (asada) taco, an absolutely fresh and delicious Horchata Iced Coffee, and delicious churros with filling inside. Everything was authentic and the flavors were right on! Plenty of parking outside. Five stars.

First visit and only got tacos al pastor this time. There will be additional visits! Fresh ingredients! ***The food remains great but the service is juvenile, especially on Taco Tuesday. They would be better served to drop the promotion rather than remain understaffed on Tuesday. Picking up the phone and setting it down on the counter without addressing the caller for more than five minutes is unacceptable. I could go on, but just like their staff, I don't have the time!

Giving two stars because my husband likes some of the food. I would give one star for ability to greet and acknowledge customers. Ruben has always been nice to us but I can’t same the same for the girls up front. Don’t bother calling to place an order, they don’t answer the phone. This has been ongoing for the last year or more, so finally I asked why they never answer. She claimed to be busy but when I walked up (seconds after calling) all three of them were just standing there at the register. On other occasions, they have been on their cell phones texting and not bothering to acknowledge us. Seems like having customers are more of a burden so I’ll give my business to Native Kitchen where food and service are always high quality.
