Dave's Chicago Spot

I have to admit I was initially skeptical of a restaurant that specializes in Chicago style hot dogs, and tacos. But as a taco fan, I was pleasantly surprised! Walk-in service was good, and for about $10 invested I got three steak tacos and a drink. The asada tacos were a typical size, doubled corn tortillas, with lime, cilantro, onion and a small tub of sauce. Flavors were nice but not earthshaking. The steak was a bit more cooked than I prefer, this combined with the cut of the meat leads to a somewhat dense texture. At $2.50 each, it’s easy to expect more in the flavor department. However, I will definitely be back in to try some other menu items, as service and cleanliness was great.

Complete incompetence. One person running drive thru and register and one person in the kitchen. Started to order and kept getting cut off before we were done like the lady thought we were finished after the first two items for a family of 5. Seriously...I refuse to waste my time. Can't even comment on the food because I refused to eat after the terrible service from the start. Don't want to take the time to listen to my full order then you don't get my money.

Well the hours are a bit iffy. It says 9 but they closed at 7 yesterday and the girl was way rude too but tonight I called it in beforehand. The woman was lovely and the Italian beef !!!! Omg I felt like I was at portillos I was eating this sandwich like it was my last meal. It’s the REAL thing. Shaved beef in the right jus and the gardinera is awesome. Though be aware it’s a bit spicier than the usual kind. Not that I’m complaining. Oh lord, I wish I got two

I went here yesterday. In this pandemic we are suppose to be very careful handling food. Iam a mother of 5 and when I go out for food Iam extremely careful and make sure that the people have face masks on when preparing food. I came up through drive thru and the person attending me did not have a mask or the person making the food didn't either. Iam very disappointed 😞 because we barely move here and people say that the tacos are so good.We ordered food but I through every thing in the trash my kids safety first.
