If you like dive bars this is a good one. Live bands on the weekend usually sometimes a DJ, never know what you'll get. Pool and friendly staff makes good drinks.
Great little dive bar... Good atmosphere. 90s hip hop has played every time I have been there. Drinks are made well, but no old fashioneds
Small local watering hole. The "regular crowd" all seem to know each other. Strangely right next door to another small bar. They have more than just mainline Bud/Coors, definitely worth a check out for a grungy, friendly place.
It has nothing to do with Elvis, it's just the name. An intimate (small) neighborhood bar/club with (usually) Good live music on Fri. & Sat nights. Lauren and Brandy are the friendly bar tenders/staff. There are many "regulars" who are there at least once a week which you will soon be calling them by name.
The only thing better than an awesome "hole in the wall" taco joint is a bar of the same type! No tacos (though you can get them two doors down), but this place embodies a Cheers-like atmosphere, where everybody knows your name, and the bartenders remember your favorite beverages.
Of course, you can't go by "Velvet Elvis" without living up to the name, and sweetening the atmosphere with the presence of Marilyn, James and others never forgotten.
Though Velvet Elvis is definitely a "stop by on the way home from work" wind down kind of chill place for me, with good bartender's choice music playlists or patron's picks, they provide evening entertainment with solid bands, grooving DJs and karaoke!
If they added a popcorn machine, I'd give my favorite dive bar 5 stars!
This place is a great placevtoo hang out. No one starting trouble nor any kind of drama. The dj plays great music.
I had a great time. The music was pretty good, the drinks were awesome, and the bartenders were great. I will definitely be back again and again
Best dive bar in dallas and great drinks! Steve the owner makes the visit worth it! It's a fun place always and very welcoming!!!

Great service and cheap drinks. Good bands on Friday. It's a dive, but a five star dive for sure!
