This restaurant is at the very heart of downtown Dallas: Pacific and Akard, literally a stone's throw from the DART rail lines. So I was surprised to find the place empty at 4:30 pm midweek. I was again surprised to find a vegetarian-specific menu option, Tostadas Vegetarian. The menu description was plain and simple and so were the tostadas.
As I was eating I came to a sudden, miraculous, possibly life-changing realization that the guacamole was extraordinary. Sublime, perfect mix of fresh ingredients. And then I realized the refried beans were understatedly excellent... This place deserves more guests! Even the beer was great - I've never had Dos Equis Amber before.

Wonderful & delightful experience the ambiance is just incredible. Food was delicious, very flavorful and great presentation. Great server, Anthony took great care of us with a very contagious smile. Very clean, fast delicious food and the price is very reasonable. Great location in Downton Dallas
Basic Dallas Tex Mex Menu. Although the special of the day is always good. Tacos, Enchiladas, Salads, Flautas and a full bar. Real bottled drinks, plus fountain beverages. Chips are better than most and the salsa is medium hot. Service is adequate and friendly. They are quick to clean tables. Dated interior and uncomfortable seats. Sometimes there is a line, but it goes quick. The food is good, just not beyond basic Tex Mex. This is a solid place for lunch and after work cocktails. I eat here about 2 times monthly. Good price for the large portions.
Love this place! This is my go-to for great Mexican food when I am away from San Antonio. It’s a small taqueria in the middle of bustling downtown with cheap prices. Its not fancy and has a great bar selection. Don’t miss out!
This is one of the few places left where the owner actually works at the front end and greets his patrons. The food is great and the service is killer hope to see other restaurants follow there example in service and care. Thanks Miguel.
Just had lunch and thought it was all quite nice. Nice casual atmosphere and everyone was very friendly. I had the special of the day which was the Chicken Sundown and it was really good. I work in the area and I'll stop by again for sure.
The food here was okay. It's tex mex, and I've never really understood people's fascination with tex mex. The service was very good. We went with a group of 8 and they were very helpful in finding us a seat in the packed restaurant and helping us clear our plates and just generally being very friendly. Food is three stars (due to my bias against tex mex), service was 4-5 stars, averaging out to about 4 stars.
Miguel Cantina is one of the best place to have lunch in downtown Dallas. Affordable price, awesome food, quick service (which is a huge advantage for office people that don't like to get in line and for lunch like me) ! Highly recommended.
Great atmosphere! Very home feel like! Love family own places like this! Food is great for the price! Not over priced at all and the staff are so nice!
Yum! I just moved here from AZ and have been searching high and low for good Mexican food (not tex mex) and refried beans that actually have flavor. I've finally found the spot and I will definitely be coming back!
