Review Sushi Rock - Dallas

Very friendly folks. They take very good care of you but portions are small so be prepared to spend more. The quality and flavors are very good. Menu is rather small but eclectic and more izakaya like. plating is gorgeous. This is not a very kid friendly menu so adults only would have a much better time but I would go back.

Owner and staff are extremely accommodating. Was there for my birthday and they made a special Omakaze for us and it was absolutely wonderful!! I will definitely be back!

The tiger sushi and smoked salmon are so good! We also loved that they had fresh wasabi, which is definitely worth the additional cost. The barbecue was good, but we will skip it next time so that we have more room for the sushi. We can’t wait to return!

I loved Sushi Rock! It is one of the better sushi experiences I have had so far. It is a small and cute little restaurant. They are known for their in-house smoked salmon. Delicious and fresh food. Plus, it is such an experience to watch them unveil the dome filled with smoke. I'm definitely going back on my next visit to Dallas!

We came for lunch at Sushi Rock for the first time. I was surprised at the food’s quality, the attention to details and care they put into the foods. They exceed my expectation. Mark, the owner, was super nice and friendly. I guess I had more questions than their regular customers when I ordered my food, so he paid extra attention to our table. He told us that after he checked our order, he knew that we appreciate fine food. We had a little chitchat and after that he gave us a free “cold smoked salmon” that was so good as its taste was very unique. Thank you Mark! We had a good time and really enjoyed your food. I recommend the Gold roll, sweet shrimps, cold smoked salmon, the oysters with caviar those are the must try. All of their sashimi (salmon, fatty tuna, yellowtail, octopus) are very fresh. I don’t remember the rolls’ name but they were good as well.

We have followed Sushi Rock through three different locations over the last 15 to 20 years and have come to know the owners well. The whole family works in the restaurant and they are very nice people. The fish is always fresh and they are always inventing new items that I have to keep pictures of to order on a future visit! Among the amazing menu items are: (1) Wild Ride - a very spicy tuna hand roll with a toasted nori to make it easy to bite; (2) Angels - Unagi with a quail egg and spices; (3) Cassidy Roll - I ordered this SOOO many times they gave it a name and finally added it to the menu - it is spicy, smooth, crunchy and sweet all at the same time; (4) Waygu Truffle Nigiri - I never would have thought seared beef would be the thing to order in a sushi restaurant but this is amazing; (5) Home Smoke Salmon Sashimi - If I went to a deserted island and could eat only one thing this would be it - they smoke their own salmon holy cow; (6) Kanpachi Carpaccio - They came up with the most amazing sauce to go with kanpachi fish; (7) The "Cupcake" - I don't know if this is the right name, but they came up with an amazing combination of toro, roe, uni and gold flecks (picture attached) - I'm not much for uni as they can attest, but this is awesome; (8) Spicy Tuna Rice Cakes - the name says it all but there is a delicious sauce that gives a unique flavor that makes these amazing; (9) Oysters - they don't have them all the time but when they do they make giant oyster sashimi in the shell with yet another amazing sauce. We try to go on Saturday afternoons after the lunch crowd thins to encourage the sushi chefs - Mark and Pearce to try new things. It's the best time. They get so busy in the evenings these days because they have become so popular that we enjoy the afternoons best.

Best Sushi in town, bar none! Hard to choose, but I’d say smoked salmon, and smelt roe are my favorite. Always ask about the special. Can’t go wrong. Service is top notch at this family owned establishment. Always feel like I’m in a friend’s home.

Hands down one of the best sushi place around Dallas area. We had a little birthday party and ordered a bunch of sushi which was recommended by one of the family member . Drove by it almost everyday and never had a chance to eat here. Finally the moment awaits and it didn’t disappoint my taste . They are known for their nigiri so we ordered a bunch . Everything was fresh from the sashimi to the rolls . The hamachi Kama was big and flavorful with the ponzu sauce . Wish their wasabi was more potent and stronger. Would love to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere here next time.

Found this restaurant featured on the Dallas Eater website. This sushi was DELISH!!! If you’re craving sushi, don’t hesitate to come here. The service by Mark Was superb. ⭐️We tried some of the specials Mark suggested for us based on our interests and he nailed it. Both the specials were so tasty, especially the Yuzu marinated, pan seared Albacore. 🤤 The house salad was also scrumptious with their ginger house dressing. Ordered a hot green tea to top it off—just the way i like it with a nutty finish and matcha at the bottom of the cup. Thank you Sushi Rock for a delicious lunch! 🤗 See you next time!

Came here twice already! They always serve good sushi. We got the shrimp tempera, crawfish volcano roll which are our go to’s from now on. Weren’t a fan of sunflower roll so far. Aren’t able to try raw sushi yet since wife is pregnant so this will be our go to when she’s craving sushi!

I have heard good things about Sushi Rock, so we took a drive to check it out. And, I can confirm the positive reviews are valid. It's not a big restaurant by any means. But do not let the small size fool you. As the name implies, the restaurant is themed in a Rock N Roll way. The restaurant played some good 80's rock songs while we were there. We were greeted by a courteous young man and we sat in a corner next to the Sushi bar. We started off with chicken karrage and it was easily one of the top we have had recently. We then orders salmon sashimi and it was amazing! I ordered the Rainbow Roll which is topped with various fish, delicious! As we ate,, more patrons walked in and they were welcomed with a "Welcome back!" It's easy to see that people love this spot! We also had a Caterpillar Roll that was so good! Sushi Rock definitely earned a spot in our sushi place routine!

Best sushi in North (and East) Texas. Better than Blue Fish. Unbelievable quality. If you like smoked salmon, theirs is hands down, the best I've ever had. Don't like smoked? That's okay too, still buttery deliciousness to be had with the salmon. The Gyoza was great. I have two complaints (which didn't have a chance at affecting the 5 stars given)... First, I ordered 4 regular salmon - 2 piece nigiri but received and was charged for 4. I didn't bother complaining, they were so good. Second, the shishito peppers weren't anything special, we make better at home. The nigiri/sushi was perfection.

Really enjoyed the whole experience. The atmosphere is laid back. Rock music playing in the background at a volume that you can sing along to but still have a conversation with your group. The sushi was pretty delish. We started with the Smoked Salmon Sashimi which was good. It had a pretty cool presentation as well. The Cassidy Roll and Spicy Rainbow Roll were the family favorites. The Negitoro Roll was the special of the day and pretty awesome. We ended with dessert which was a sticky toffee pudding cake that we thoroughly enjoyed. Our waiter was a foodie and made several excellent recommendations. Enjoyed watching and talking to the sushi chef. He clearly takes pride in his work.

An absolute GEM. They went on a brief hiatus recently and believe me when I say they left a hole in my heart and my stomach. I'm so glad they're back. If you're looking for an eating EXPERIENCE that's worth the price, look no further. The concept on its own is 10/10; pair that with the food and you're bound to have a great time. I recommend this to everyone and bring all my closest friends here. Just remember to leave some room for that sticky toffee pudding ♡♡

Great sushi shop in Texas! I went with a coworker and we had the chef present us with his selection. They did not disappoint. The fish was fresh and the methods of preparation were so unique! Smoked salmon smoked right then and there. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. It can get a bit crowded as it is a small venue, but worth the wait.

Great sushi and friendly service. Must try their smoked salmon sashimi. They play classic rock, hence the name. Toffee dessert is delicious if you got room after the meal.

I went around 6pm on a Thursday evening and they were busy, but the service remained friendly and quick. The fish was fresh and so tasty. Love this neighborhood spot.
