Review Prego Pasta House - Dallas

Excellent service start to finish. You can feel the history and family atmosphere when you walk in. Pepper steak and lasagna were delicious. The bruschetta was probably the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Will be back.

Charles helped alot We had italin sausage pasta. So delicious. Well priced. The place looks better from inside than outside. They have Valet service too. Very friendly. We loved Charles. We came in for lunch, and will come here again for dinner. I highly recommend it. One of the last authentic places you can find. It's hard to keep the prices low.

Our first time visit was the spot we just ran into, and I highly recommend it. The wait is worth it. Had a margarita with Don Julio on the rocks, and it was done just right! The bread was a bonus.

I love this place, good food and good atmosphere. I love how they have bread and butter on the table. The servers are professional and engaging. The only down side is that it is expensive to the extreme. This is only a special occasion type of place for me.

Went here with friends after a few drinks. The menu here is quite extensive with traditional Italian dishes. There is something for almost everyone here. One thing not on the menu is chicken Murphy. But I asked our waiter if the kitchen could make it. He asked for the ingredient list, I provided it and out it came. One of my friends ordered the same and another took advantage of the Italian sampler. Each of us found our meal to be excellent and more than we could eat in one sitting. We took two bottles of wine and paid a small cork fee ($25) to open two very nice bottles. Overall, Prego is a little gem with upsCale service and vibe. If you’re in the area, give them a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

It was family get together, so there was way too many drinks and over the top amounts of food to deep dive into it, but Prego's never disappoints. Top hits were the Shrimp Parm, lemon chicken and the best cocktail was an espresso martini. Service was awesome especially how big all the tables were that night.

First off, service was great! Charles was so nice and made us feel like we were a part of the family, even though it was our first time coming in. We came in near the end of the night when they were wrapping up, and where most places try to rush you out the door, Charles let us know that we could take our time and enjoy ourselves. Also, we were spoken to by just about everyone on the staff which was also nice. We had the Alfredo and the Chicken Italiano which were both really good. HIGHLY recommend the crab claws and make sure to dip your bread in the garlic sauce. The chicken fried steak was suggested for a lunch item, so I think we will go back to try that. Happy to have tried this family spot.

A family owned restaurant that has been around for 40 years ‼️🍝 Yes Prego Pasta House is absolutely a Dallas favorite! Prego means “Welcome” in Italian and they want everybody to feel like you’re coming back home for a family meal when you’re dining in with them. The recipes they use are family recipes — indeed true Italian flavors! Wine is truly perfect to pair with every appetizer and entree, plus service was first class and efficient too! If you are seeking for an old fashioned, authentic Italian dining experience this is definitely the spot to go! 🙌🏼 What we got: 🧀 Prégo Meat & Cheese Antipasto Plate - $13.95 🍤 Shrimp Prégo (sautéed shrimp in a wine butter sauce) - $23.95 🥩 Joey’s Famous Pepper Steak (served with fettuccine & salad) - $39.95 🥖 Essence (so good with bread) - $3.95 🍋 Desserts of the Day (Lemon Cake) - $7.95 🍷 Riunite Lambrusco

I’ve been here twice looking forward to go again. the service is quick and friendly. the atmosphere is a vibe, only negative is that the restaurant smells a little funny. I think it’s fairly priced. The Caesar salad is really scrumptious and fresh. The bread and butter is nice but eat the bread quickly or else bread will get stale. The sauce on the lobster ravioli was to die for. nice touch with the shrimp bits which they were bigger. The marinara sauce on The chicken Parmesan was really tasty. Perfect amount of cheese and the chicken was delicious.

Great place & food was awesome. Check your bill. I may have gotten someone’s mistake but the bill was 2x what we ordered. They fixed it, but just a reminder to check.

So yummy!! Very intimate, old fashioned Italian restaurant. The staff was great and the food was amazing ! Very in and out in a timely manner. Highly recommended. Note- valet parking only and no reservations unless you’re a party of 6 or more!

Had a wonderful meal from beginning to end. The service was fantastic and the food delicious. The garlic bread was amazing. Highly recommended for those seeking an old school, authentic Italian dining experience.

My family recently ordered takeout from Prego Pasta House. They take great care in making deliciously authentic Italian food. There is a reason Prego has stayed in business for more than 30 years and continues to remain a Dallas staple. I recommend the chicken parmigiana and eggplant parmigiana, as well as the fried provolone cheese!

Prego is a beloved Dallas haunt! The same servers and bartenders have been there for generations, so they must be doing something right. I love the simple dinner salad with Italian dressing as well as the classic angel hair pasta with marinara sauce.

I'm not a pasta type person but you cannot beat their chicken fried steak. 12 oz NY strip tenderizes covers the whole plate. I'm a very big boy over 300 lbs and I ate 2/3 of it and still have enough left for 2 sandwiches tomorrow. It covers the whole plate. This place is my newest bad habit. Lol.

I worked for Prego for 9 years. It was a honor to serve their consistently delicious food!!! The Barracco's are a close family and they make the servers and customers feel like they are part of that. I always said if I fell short on my server abilities, the customers would forgive me when they got their food! The Veal Italiano is my favorite. Lightly breaded veal in a lemon cream sauce served with fettuccine alfredo a salad and tons of bread! Top it off with a piece of lemon cake and they will have to roll you out in a wheel barrow. The steaks are thick and tender. Everything is cooked fresh to order. It's no wonder they have customers that have been eating there for 30+ years. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Place sucks ass. Charged 1.25 to sub for ranch on salad Didn't even put my order in and said "you didn't order" when I clearly ordered and the waiter even asked if I wanted mushrooms. They charged 4.50 for a Coke. My cousin ordered a Sprite the guy kept pouring water in his cup. the meal I ordered had so much lemon in the sauce it just wasn't good. Then the manager asked how my meal was and in the middle of me telling him the issue he walks off and starts talking to another customer.

I took me and my girlfriend for the first time and everything was great. Cozy little spot. We tried the artichokes for our appetizer and it was fantastic. I would recommend this place to everyone. We will be back. Thank You.

Outraged. My boyfriend and I went to Prego Pasta House tonight to celebrate Valentine’s day. When I received my dish it looked to me like the chef boiled some pasta and a bag of mixed vegetables and threw it together with some sauce. I took one bite and felt it was bland and underwhelming. I told the waiter I was displeased. Like any good waiter he took the dish away. What came next was unlike any treatment I have received from a professional establishment. The waiter returned to the table to tell me he could get me something else at no extra cost but the owner was not willing to take the previous dish off the bill. When we contested this decision a second spokesperson from the restaurant informed us they would not be willing to take the food off the bill (meanwhile the owner glared at us from the bar). I said that it wasn’t right for them to charge me for something I took one bite of then sent back. He told me he still had the pasta in the back and they would be happy to box it up for me (thank you for offering me cold pasta that could have been in the sink for all I know). At this point we ask for the owner to actually speak to us personally. He finally did. We told him how we felt we should not have to pay for the pasta. He angrily conceded, telling us to pay for the salad that came with the pasta and to never return. Then as he walked away he mumbled some phrase that had to do with taking our asses someplace. I asked him to repeat himself. He refused. Then after I waited for at least ten minutes for them to actually bring my car (valet parking), I approached the owner and told him I did not appreciate being disrespected by being cussed at. He told me he didn’t cuss, but said the word “butt.” I wonder how he knew which cuss word I was referring to if he didn’t actually say the word ass. It is not like ass and butt rhyme. If he didn’t say ass why would he assume that was the word I thought I heard. Why not any other cuss word? I digress. In closing, I am in disbelief about how poorly we were treated in general and especially on a holiday night when we were one of only four people in the restaurant.

Entrees were ok, kinda bland. Calamari was delicious. Didn't get my salad that came with my meal because the server forgot. Really bad acoustics in the dining area. Wanted to try this place because we hadn't, but probably won't be back.

The staff has been the same for many years and that says something about a place! They have impeccable service!!! We know them by name and they know us by name!! Love it!

We had a great meal at Prego last night. We were a large party celebrating a birthday and Emilio did an amazing job taking care of everyone .... professional and personable, which added to the experience. He even remembered our names. Overall, a great evening at Prego!

A real bargain in authentic Italian food. Get the veal, or the seafood fettucine. Don't forget to order some Essence to go with the wonderful fresh bread! Great service, great bartender too. I've been going there for 20 years I think.

Definitely our go-to place for good food and great people!
