Old school steakhouse.
Loved the salad bar. Fresh cut vegetables.
Very affordable prices for the steaks. Medium was definitely cooked medium, not overdone.
Baked potatoes come with all the toppings you can add as much as you want.
Bread rolls were great with cinnamon butter.
The squash casserole was just ok.
Absolutely delicious! Prices were as expected for a steakhouse, not worse than usual! High points: ambience, service, cinnamon butter and rolls, fried mushrooms, 9 oz bacon wrapped filet!
The food was delicious! The service was fast and friendly. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The dessert was incredible. All around a great experience.
Very cosy feel to this steakhouse! You can see them prepare your food by the huge grill. The salad bar is a must-have! Lots of options for greens and even has eggs for protein! The meat we had that night was a little under so my medium rare came out almost rare. Still edible, but a tad squishy to my liking. Same for my friend's. But we could stomach the meat so we didn't send them back.
The food was great as usual. We always get the 9 oz filet and have it butterflied. Service was great. Our waiter, Justin, was attentive but not bothersome. Lighting was subdued but not dark. The conversation level was not loud. You could actually hold a conversation without having to ask “What did you say?”. Great experience. We drive 60 miles round trip to eat here so, we don’t get to come as often as we would like.
I've been going to Dunstons since I was 11 years old. Honor to finally meet Mr Gene Dunston. Would recommend to anyone that wants a great atmosphere and quality steak 🔥😎
I have now made six visits to Dunston's, and I've loved every time I've come! Admittedly, I haven't tried many of their steaks except for the filet mignon, but it's fantastic. It comes with tremendous flavor and tenderness, and it was perfect for me at "medium doneness." I've also loved every appetizer and side I've tried, whether as the mozzarella sticks, the calamari, the mushroom poppers, the baked potatoes, the Brussels sprouts, the green beans, the sweet potato fries, the macaroni and cheese, or the "Dip Trio." The hot fudge brownie and banana pudding are excellent, too. Since early 2021, this has been the "#1 spot" for a good friend of mine and I to host our birthday dinners, and I look forward to continuing that tradition! I absolutely recommend paying a visit to Dunston's Lovers–Inwood if you're after a premier meal for a special occasion. Excellent facility!
Great place for a cheaper and more casual steakhouse (and salad bar)! It’s definitely a Dallas staple. Strongly suggest either getting the bacon wrapped filet or tenderloin. The onion rings and potatoes are the best when it comes to sides aside from the salad bar. And if you do the salad bar, don’t forget to try the cold pea salad! When you make reservations, be sure to request to sit in the back for a more cozy atmosphere!
Cool little place, stopped in for the first time for happy hour - great happy hour menu. Huge schooners with ice cold beer.... literally ice in top. Kinda feels like Cheers, where many people know each other. Our sever, Brooklyn, had good recommendations for food/drinks (great old fashion's). We wanted to compliment the food and friendliness to the manager, Joy, but she was chatting at the host stand for a while (wearing biking shorts…?), which was the only downside. We had snacks and drinks and look forward to returning for dinner soon.
Bring a salt shaker. The food (especially the veggies) are bland but yet are still good. Steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Portions are a decent size but because of the blandness I have to say this place is overpriced. Just one slight change to the prep could make this one of the top restaraunts to visit here and worth every penny
