Local Restaurant

The food was delicious. Everyone in my party was pleased with what they ordered! We really liked the tucked- away feel of the restaurant and the overall look of the dining room. They do not have a liquor license and serve wine and wine-based cocktails only. We did notice that the service was oddly casual for a place with a tasting menu, and the music was distracting at the volume that was chosen. It was an interesting combination of incredible food with an atmosphere that couldn't quite keep up with the menu.

This place is an absolute diamond. For decades we have been perusing Deep Ellum for music and entertainment, but only recently discover Local. My wife booked it for our 6th Wedding Anniversary dinner and it was one of the funnest nights we've ever experienced. We decided to go with the Nine Course food tasting paired up with accompanying wine menu. A little pricey for the combo but WELL WORTH the expense!!! The food was delicious and well studied- course sizes were perfectly delivered. We ate everything on our plates but portion sizes did not leave us still hungry. And the wines were amazing- paired expertly with the individual food courses. The heavy hitters were the The Bezel Cakebread Chardonnay which went perfectly with the Crusted Sea Bass in dill sauce and the Martin Ray Cab with the Tenderloin. Also the short ribs were amazing. At the end of the night we met the chef, and were surprised to see one single talented lady and not an entire team! The evening will be forever remembered and we can't recommend Local enough. Thank you!!!

I dined here when they first opened forever ago and again last night. And the quality of this place, on all levels, is still consistent after all these years. Cozy atmosphere, but a cool vibe. Service is on point at every step but never pretentious, always welcoming. Food is obviously chef-led cause you can taste the love in each dish - no one in our party had a bad bite. Love that Local remains in DE after all these years and still is a stellar place to dine.

Phenomenal food. Tracy Miller is a genius, who is an artist in the kitchen, the Mozart of cooking. Every dish was truly a beautiful piece of art, with each course bursting with amazing flavor. Great variety on the menu, elevated & creative American food. Truly a magical eating experience, can’t wait to go back & try the chefs tasting 9 course meal :D
