It was my first time visiting this restaurant, it was GREAT! The frozen mescal was a nice change of the margaritas. Crab dip is a must and so are the fish tacos. The service was great with a team work approach. I will be going back soon.

I like this place. I went in after work, it's just on my way back to the hotel. Didn't even check review and was pleasantly surprised. The waiter is nice and friendly, and I ordered a bowl and it was so delicious. Highly recommend this place for a quick bite.

4 stars for the food and 3 stars for the service and accessibility. Came to Tortaco for dinner with a group of people and we all really enjoyed the food. We started with Roasted Crab Dip and of course, chips and salsa. The dip was good and I really liked the salsa. For our main course the table got tacos, a torta, and a bowl. Every thing looked great and were a nice size and my favorites was the Truffle Steak taco and the Burnt Ends taco. The tacos were a great size and packed with great flavor! The service was a little off especially considering it wasn't busy. We had to ask for additional drinks throughout the meal and we had to ask for a second serving of chips, which we never got. Tortaco offers free parking in the connected building, but when we went down the ramp the gate wouldn't open, so we had to pay $12 for a public lot ($12 is the night rate, the day rate is $24). I understand Tortaco has no control over public lots and it is just a downside for being located downtown. If you live close to the McKinney Ave Trolley, Tortaco is located by a stop, so that's a good option for getting there. Overall Tortaco is a great value and definitely worth a visit. The food tastes great, the portions are a nice size, oh and Happy Hour is from 3-7! I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

This place ranks in the pantheon of value. Located in the business district, it offers distinctive service and tastebud-exploding food in less time you'd spend at a Wendy's drive thru. Moreover, it has a unique vibe with low lighting and luxe rustic decor. The salsa verde was best ever. They serve it warm! I went from skeptical to ecstatic in 1 chip loaded with it. Intense tomato, tang, and southwestern flavor. The burnt ends brisket torta served on ciabatta with carmelized onions, jalapenos, and diced pickle was genius. Fresh ingredient margarita was perfect. Now, for the kicker...the bill was under $20 for a dinner. I've paid double for much less. The place bustles with couples and larger business groups who can grab a quick meal or leisurely enjoy their dinner. I highly recommend this place for anyone, anytime.

Oh my, really nice tacos and in the heart of downtown Dallas. Beware of the sauce that comes with the tacos, really hot but tasty if you like real spicy sauce. Try the burnt ends taco or torts and the mac and cheese is bomb!!!

The one place we found Downtown that has a late closing time - 10pm. Ambience is good. The food menu is simple but good. Careful with the Red Salsa has a nice after burn that gets you in the back of the throat. The chips are like giant fritos, Crispy, clean taste, no grease. The flautas/rolled tacos - good! Nice presentation! Ultimately, the Crème Brûlée is a delicious great finish!

I ordered 3 different items from the menu. I'll rate them all for you here separately (1), the tongue & cheek taco is definitely the star out of the things I had. Great meat and mix of flavors, awesome dish. (2) the truffle steak bowl is also fantastic. I loved the mixture of sweet potato and squash in the bowl. Very nice flavor. (3) the pineapple & goat cheese ceviche was not of my liking. It was too sweet and eating it with the sweetened cinnamon plantain chips was too much. I think it could have gone better with some salted crackers to combine flavors. The plantain chips by themselves are wonderful and they could sell those bagged. The service was decent. The only thing I didn't enjoy is that my coworker asked if they served Aguas frescas and the waiter tried to go way out to make it seem like it wasn't a Mexican restaurant. The whole menu is Mexican food with a fusion so I don't know why they are trying to act otherwise. Prices are decent for the food quality.

I had the burnt ends torta, my wife the veggie bowl. Shared jalapeño mac & cheese and roasted cauliflower for appetizers. Everything was delicious (I may have licked my fingers) and the prices were outstanding. We will definitely return.

The drink pictured below is a 5 minute Jacky. Maybe because it takes only 5 minutes before it kicks in??? Great drink! The other picture was the manager of the restaurant being interviewed on Telemundo. Very cool experience. I highly recommend this place!

Truthfully. the best torte I have had! I enjoyed the roasted chicken torte, with their delicious fries... as well as the gooey mac and cheese. Jose' was a terrific server! Hope to see this restaurant in the future!
