Sexy Mexican. Fernando's is in a trendy area of Dallas and we tried it for the first time on Wednesday at lunch. The decor is upscale and sophisticated. Fine art and clean black furniture. None of the kich of most tex Mex places. We sat down quickly despite a busy lunch crowd of professionals. The friendly Mexican staff brought us a trio of tasty salsas and fresh hot corn chips. All smoothly blended- a red, avocado, and zesty green salsa hit the spot. We ordered the guacamole Acapulco which was nicely made and flavorful, but not as spectacular as Papasitos tableside guac. My wife ordered the house chicken salad- I tasted the dressing which was zesty and spicy, and my wife loved the moist chicken. I had the typical Texmex combo of beef taco and chicken burrito. In the classic way- No. 6. And don't forget our margaritas that were ordered top shelf, and I was even asked what tequila I wanted too. Plata, reposado or anjeo. My margarita was strong, limey and sweet. My wife loved her more conventional house frozen with strawberry. The food here is really well made, fresh, flavorful and worth the Papasitos level cost. No wonder it was full on a Wednesday at 12:30.
Enjoyed my lunch! Plan on going back again!
Upscale Tex Mex. Friends took me to the restaurant when I was visiting. Staff treated us very well as we arrived late in the evening. Plenty of food served in a very nice atmosphere. Price was not bad either.
Good Tex-Mex. Ate here for a friend's birthday once. The quality was better than your average tex-mex place. It reminded me of the ever-wonderful Mia's in Oak Lawn.
The place was pretty packed, and the clientele was a little upper-crust. Must be a popular joint. I would love to return someday.
WAY TO GO FERNANDO!. I can't even begin to tell you how nice the addition of Fernando's is to the Midway Hollow neighborhood! It's too bad we have to share this gem with our neighbors in Bluffview and Highland Park. Just kidding, but it does get very crowded! In an effort to alleviate this issue, Fernando and Ann added on to their outdoor seating area. It was really well designed and again adds alot to the neighborhood. Everything on the menu is exceptional but the service is extraordinary. Fernando, the former front of the house host at Il Sorrento really knows how to staff his restaurant and train his servers to be the very best. We stepped out of our traditional Tex-Mex box and ordered the brisket tacos. WOW. They were melt-in-your-mouth good! Crazy good! Another plus in the overall dining experience is the people watching. I'm told that George and Laura Bush are often there and on our visit Kay Bailey Hutchison dined at the table next to us. I'm sure that Democrats are welcome as well. Let's all meet in the middle at Fernando's!

If it's good enough for George and Laura, it's good enough for me! Actually I've been coming here since before the Prez. My favorites are the cheese enchilas with chili con carne sauce and the brisket tacos. Almost every dish comes with tasty guac. Margs are delish and prices are great. Best place intown! In the words of Rachael Ray, Yum-O!
Solid food, good lunch service.... The food is always solid, I'll give it that - including weekend the brunch menu. And the service at brunch and lunch is very good. For these reasons, I truly like the place. However, come dinner time, the servers can be pushy when they're trying to upsell you to a "top shelf" margarita which, frankly, isn't that good. Other than that, it's a nice neighborhood place that reminds of Mi Cocina - for better or for worse.
Hubby and I were at the UPS store right next to this restaurant during lunch time so we decided to give it a try.
It's a little pricey, but the lunch specials are perfect 👌
Lots to choose from on the menu.
The food was really good as was the service.
Give it a try when you are in the area 😄
loved the food and great customer service. I brought my laptop to do a few tasks on there and sat outside, they weren't to pushy or anything. They were sweet about everything and I didn't feel rushed. Good portion sizes so you go home full and with leftovers. for the beginning they gave free chips and salsas all had a unique taste so it helped change it up a bit. the flautas not sure why they cut them up rather it be whole but thats a minor thing. still tasted good but a little dry. Lastly enchiladas were great, I ordered like a whole bunch of diff flavors and sauces to try that way I can get a good feeling of it. was worth it. I do recommend this place for anyone, even to go study for a little bit or have a meeting or even an outing with family.
I recently visited Fernando's and I must say it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and friendly service. It was my dad's birthday, and the staff immediately made note of that and treated us like royalty.
The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered an assortment of dishes, including tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas, and each one was packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The guacamole was fresh and chunky, and the chips were crispy and addictive.
What really stood out, however, was the tres leches cake. It was honestly one of the best desserts I've ever had, and the fact that it was brought out for my dad's birthday made it all the more special. The cake was perfectly moist and had just the right amount of sweetness. It was the perfect ending to an already fabulous meal.
The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful as well - the decor is vibrant and eye-catching, and the music was lively without being too loud. The entire experience was unforgettable, and I know that I will be returning to Fernando's in the near future.
If you're looking for a fantastic TexMex restaurant with delicious food and incredible service, Fernando's is the place to go. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
Great place to go on a date, craving some tex Mex? This is the place to go. The food is great, and the drinks are pretty strong; who doesn't like strong margaritas or mixed drinks? Shoot, I know I do. Ambient is very nice. Go check it out..
The chips and salsa were great! The salsas had a lot of flavor and I liked the variety. The fajitas were cold when they arrived to the table, and so were the potatoes, rice, and beans. The tortillas are mediocre. The flautas were crunchy but the inside had the texture of dough... I couldn’t quite find the right words to explain the texture and taste. The guacamole tasted really good and the beans had a lot of flavor. The restaurant looks beautiful inside and the music is great.
Restaurant was easy to find and in a good area. The service was quick and the food was delicious. Servers were extremely nice and helpful. There is a patio area with mist fans but I chose to sit on the inside. Will definitely come back again to try more dishes and a margarita.
We went there for my birthday and it was worth it. The food is great. The dessert was amazing, and the staff and their services were excellent.
Drinks where good, Margaritas don't look fancy but are delicious.
Chips and salsa very good.
We had the ceviche and red snapper Veracruz style.
Good number of check ins by the staff.
All around a great dinning experience.
Service was good. From entrance to exit the experience was great. The hostess was welcoming and the server was attentive. The chips and salsas were amazing. Very good. The food was delicious..everything taste home made..not previously frozen. The sangria was good...not strong so you can order about three and feel good. Love this place...will go back
Chips and salsa were awesome. All three of the salsas are very fresh. Queso is soo good. Better than many ive had. We got a mix of the spinich and chicken quesadillas cancun. So delicious. They are very well made and the cheese pulls apart.
We got blueberry mojitos and bloody mary's. Both were awesome.
