Review Record Grill - Dallas

Bossman Dontrustgooge
Fantastic diner - real-live lunch counter. This place earns every one of the four stars (I reserve five stars for the very best places I've ever been). We had two orders of onion rings to start (5), my wife had a fish sandwich (5), I had a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich and fries (6) and we each had fountain cokes (@2). Folks coming and going on a rainy day about 11:45 pm. Relaxing, clean, homey, not quiet, but not noisy. Attentive service from the three folks running the seven seats and four tables. I enjoyed myself thoroughly! $22.05 altogether for lunch. Parking is a big challenge on a weekday, but we lucked out: Go into the Houston or Elm entrance to the Dallas County Records/Tax Office building's underground parking - get as low as necessary to park in the back corner (the NE corner) - that elevator lets you out away from the records building in a little structure on the corner of Elm and market - directly across the street from the Record Grill! Parking's pricy: 61+ minutes, $10 - we got out for $7 - well worth it. We'll be back every chance we get.

I was touring Dealey plaza and wanted something quick and good. Stopped in to the Record grill and had the bacon double cheeseburger. Was able to watch them cook my meal. Looked like quality beef and fresh bacon. Buns were toasted. Was done nicely on the griddle, great taste and price was right. It is Cash only, so come prepared. The staff were very nice and friendly. When I’m in the area again, I’ll definitely be back for breakfast. Come out and support your local businesses.

This place was amazing! It is everything you look for in a diner! Highly recommend checking them out. Sorry no food pics. Ate it too fast to take pictures!

If you blink, you’ll miss it. It’s a small place with big flavor. Hole in the wall feel..Entering, I wasn’t impressed, but that changed quickly. It was warm and crowded. But the service was excellent and the drinks were cold. I just ordered a burger, how good can it be right? Dayum!! It was excellent. I had a single patty burger with onions and pickles with a side of fries. Everything was fresh, and fries were crispy and hot. The fries themselves won me over. The BLT was also phenomenal. Fresh and crispy, nothing was wilting and warm. If you are looking for a corporate restaurant with robotic servers skip this place. The is a great little hole it the wall. Everything is made to order and prices are more than fair. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite. It’s nothing fancy, but big on character and great comfort food. I will be back.

It's exactly what you would expect. Hole in the wall location very close to JFK assassination location. They do not have bathrooms so you may need to plan accordingly. Just think as if they were a food truck, but in a fixed location with some seating. Cash only. No WiFi and proud of it. :-) Lots and lots of regulars. Good variety of cold bottled drinks.

Great hole in the wall restaurant!! Cheap food, great options, public parking next door ($5) - perfect breakfast/lunch stop when seeing JFK monuments/memorials/museum - CASH ONLY, quick service

A small, basic grill right in downtown Dallas. Good food, good service. You can get a full, freshly-cooked meal for under $10. It was my first time there, but I was impressed that the lady behind the counter knew her regulars and what they wanted. I'll return the next time I'm in the city.

This place was great. Food was delicious and the prices are below average for area. Just a few blocks from Sixth Floor Museum. Dining area is small. Hours are early morning to about 2 pm during the week. No restroom and only accepts cash. Food served hot and fast. Service is great. Definitely will return.

If I could somehow rate this the BEST, UNKNOWN BREAKFAST & LUNCH DINER IN DOWNTOWN DALLAS! This is my 2nd day in a row for breakfast. I won't lie, I thought about it all night. I'm one of Googles top restaurant reviewers cuz I pull no punches. If it suits you know I'm going off about it but if it's great I HAVE TO TELL YOU! Not for their benefit but for yours so you can come enjoy wonderful food. The first bite & I thought I was a kid again & my granny had cooked it. It's just like it & she died in the 80s so u can bet I'm a new regular here!!

Great food. The burgers have a great flavor. The chicken fried steak and white gravy is delicious and moist. The grilled cheeses are also good as they were devoured by my nephews. A must visit spot for burger lovers.

They're friendly and professional at this diner. Seriously I wish some larger chains were this hospitable. Great little spot near the museums and tourist sights and of course good food.

It was great to find out that dinners like the Record Grill in Dallas still exist. Great American comfort food at amazing prices. Better food than fast food at less than fast food prices.

I saw the place while scouting the area for some photos I was going to do and saw many workers eating there. I knew I had to try it. I was for a huge surprise. The place is really small and you can miss it. Service is really good and fast.

I ordered some enchiladas with rice and beans. they were very tasty. and the price is great too.

Just a great hole in the wall - comfort food spot. There's a daily special, Tues was meatloaf w/green beans & fries on the side w/a diet $7 - if you like old school this is your blue collar spot.

Best value breakfast in downtown Dallas. Jose is The Man with a Pan! It was fun watching him flip eggs. Breakfast and a show. Can't beat it.

Wonderful Hole in the Wall. I sat at the counter and realized that the food preparation was feet away. Very cool.
Despite the fact It was meatloaf Tuesday and I ordered the fish. It was pretty good and from the sound of it the meatloaf was a hit. I actually heard people at different locations in this thimble of an eatery making yummy sounds as they ate the meatloaf. No joke.
Others were eating some juicy hamburgers with fresh steaming french fries piled on the side.
There is $6 parking close by so I will be back to this place.
BTW, the service was fast, friendly and informative.

Record Grill exceptional. It may appear to be a greasy dive, but it is THE best place to eat breakfast in Dallas at 7 am Mon-Fri and opens at 9 on Sat nicest staff, best of all you get to watch your cooks cook the food from five feet away so you know the kitchen is clean.

Cool little place.. I stopped here for lunch while I was visiting the city. It was about 2pm and the place was completely empty.

I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The ladies behind the counter were friendly and took my order quickly.

Fries were great. Plentiful, crispy, and soft inside. The burger was average and a little small. Price was right. Just under $7 for lunch with a coke.

Tasty hole in the wall. Fast and cheap. Very small. 4 tables and 8 stools at the bar.
Yvonne Gomez
The CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST!!!!

The woman claims to be the so called owner is horrible! Very nasty ATTITUDE!! The food and price are decent.
