Fantastic diner - real-live lunch counter. This place earns every one of the four stars (I reserve five stars for the very best places I've ever been). We had two orders of onion rings to start (5), my wife had a fish sandwich (5), I had a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich and fries (6) and we each had fountain cokes (@2). Folks coming and going on a rainy day about 11:45 pm. Relaxing, clean, homey, not quiet, but not noisy. Attentive service from the three folks running the seven seats and four tables. I enjoyed myself thoroughly! $22.05 altogether for lunch.
Parking is a big challenge on a weekday, but we lucked out: Go into the Houston or Elm entrance to the Dallas County Records/Tax Office building's underground parking - get as low as necessary to park in the back corner (the NE corner) - that elevator lets you out away from the records building in a little structure on the corner of Elm and market - directly across the street from the Record Grill! Parking's pricy: 61+ minutes, $10 - we got out for $7 - well worth it. We'll be back every chance we get.

A small, basic grill right in downtown Dallas. Good food, good service. You can get a full, freshly-cooked meal for under $10.
It was my first time there, but I was impressed that the lady behind the counter knew her regulars and what they wanted.
I'll return the next time I'm in the city.

This place was amazing! It is everything you look for in a diner! Highly recommend checking them out. Sorry no food pics. Ate it too fast to take pictures!

It's exactly what you would expect. Hole in the wall location very close to JFK assassination location.
They do not have bathrooms so you may need to plan accordingly. Just think as if they were a food truck, but in a fixed location with some seating.
Cash only. No WiFi and proud of it. :-)
Lots and lots of regulars.
Good variety of cold bottled drinks.

If you blink, you’ll miss it. It’s a small place with big flavor. Hole in the wall feel..Entering, I wasn’t impressed, but that changed quickly. It was warm and crowded. But the service was excellent and the drinks were cold. I just ordered a burger, how good can it be right? Dayum!! It was excellent. I had a single patty burger with onions and pickles with a side of fries. Everything was fresh, and fries were crispy and hot. The fries themselves won me over. The BLT was also phenomenal. Fresh and crispy, nothing was wilting and warm. If you are looking for a corporate restaurant with robotic servers skip this place. The is a great little hole it the wall. Everything is made to order and prices are more than fair. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite. It’s nothing fancy, but big on character and great comfort food. I will be back.

If I could somehow rate this the BEST, UNKNOWN BREAKFAST & LUNCH DINER IN DOWNTOWN DALLAS! This is my 2nd day in a row for breakfast. I won't lie, I thought about it all night. I'm one of Googles top restaurant reviewers cuz I pull no punches. If it suits you know I'm going off about it but if it's great I HAVE TO TELL YOU! Not for their benefit but for yours so you can come enjoy wonderful food.
The first bite & I thought I was a kid again & my granny had cooked it. It's just like it & she died in the 80s so u can bet I'm a new regular here!!

This place was great. Food was delicious and the prices are below average for area. Just a few blocks from Sixth Floor Museum. Dining area is small. Hours are early morning to about 2 pm during the week. No restroom and only accepts cash. Food served hot and fast. Service is great. Definitely will return.

I was touring Dealey plaza and wanted something quick and good. Stopped in to the Record grill and had the bacon double cheeseburger. Was able to watch them cook my meal. Looked like quality beef and fresh bacon. Buns were toasted. Was done nicely on the griddle, great taste and price was right. It is Cash only, so come prepared. The staff were very nice and friendly. When I’m in the area again, I’ll definitely be back for breakfast. Come out and support your local businesses.
