I was recently visiting Dallas for a conference. A few friends and I decided to try Urban Taco! We were pleasantly surprised by the menu, aesthetics of the place, cleanliness, and service. We asked to sit outside and were accommodated. Christopher was our serve. He was very friendly, attentive, and fun! We ordered dinner and margaritas, which were fantastic! It was windy, and we asked our server to bring one of the propane heaters over. He brought one over, but it was out of propane. He went back and got another propane tank out, switched them, and was able to get the heater going! Dinner came out, and everything looked great! I had the 7 layer salad with steak and greatly recommend it! I also ordered the tres leches cake...and it was so good and authentic! Dinner was so good, we decided to go back the next day for lunch. We told Christopher we would be back, and we all (5 people) wanted the 7 layer salad with steak, to have it ready around 12:15 pm. We called to verify lunch plans, and everything was a go! When we showed up, Christopher had a table ready to go for us with waters! Just a few minutes later, our salads came out, and were fantastic! I ordered another piece of the tres leches cake! Christopher was amazing and the food was amazing!!

I ordered through ubereats and everything was sooooo good! It’s authentic Mexican food, not Tex-Mex. I had: 3 tacos: arrachera, pollo con mole and Al pastor a la Tuma. Mango-Jicama slaw Roasted corn con lime crema Poblano green rice Loved that the portions are not big so you can have a taste of everything and don’t end up with a food coma. Great price! I absolutely LOVED this place. Wasn’t expecting it to be so good.

Nice outside patio, close to busy streets but the buildings keep it private and quiet. Loved the Al pastor la tuma (their famous one) - really good! Solid deal to get the taco plate (3 tacos and 2 sides for $17), good amount of food, left me full/content. The fish taco was a little bland, but good, just needed better seasoning but it was a good lighter taco option. The barbacoa was solid too. I loved the sides (got the roasted corn and grilled green onions). The frozen mango margarita was also very good. Def will come again

This was some of the best food I have had in a long time. My best friend and I decided to give this place a try before our movie started at the Angelika and we are so happy we did. EVERYTHING was delicious. I promise it took less than 5 minutes to get our food. The atmosphere was perfect, the staff was friendly, the frozen margaritas were the best I have ever had, and the food was fresh and flavorful. This place is definitely worth checking out!!

The peanut habanero chip dip is the best thing on the menu. I legit can't stop eating it even though my mouth is burning. I highly recommend the chicken tinga tacos. The barbacoa and al pastor weren't bad either. The chicken tinga empanadas were a little bit dry and bland though. Good drink and good atmosphere.. will be back.

I always heard of great Texas food. This was ahhhmmazing. The mix of flavors were perfectly matched. I got 3 tacos for $14 with 2 sides. The shrimp was the best I ever had. The spiced chips with salsa and avocados mixes were unique. The churros with ice cream were good but cheap on the ice cream serving. The frozen margarita was perfect and too strong for a second one. Revisited review: I have been able to come back to Dallas multiple times now living here a couple times a month and have visited other places. This is still my favorite. Torchis is great too but I think second to this one. They moved across the street in the same shopping area from last year. It's nice but one time it was so noisy from patrons my ears were hurting. 3 years update, yep, still great tacos!

Came here randomly to burn some time before my movie started. From the start was intrigued by the menu. AMAZING SALSA! Grab a Salsa Trio for $4. Over ten different flavor profiles to choose from. I opted for a green salsa platter and was surprised at just how different the kitchen was able to spin the same ingredients into three totally separate sauces. For my entree I had the Portobello and the Red Snapper Tacos. The Portobello Taco had a subtle heat to it. The texture of the mushrooms was comparable to an animal protein but the taste was earthy. A little slice of mango tamed the heat and added a sweet finish. THE RED SNAPPER.. Flakey. Blackened. Flavorful. The slaw was crunchy. The dressing was garlicky. It was amazing. I paired the food with a mango Agua Fresca and a dressed Topo-Chico. Bonus: The limes were juicy. The corn tortillas were the perfect consistency. Server was well informed and offered the lunch special to save me a few bucks. I'll be back!

While headed to see a film at Angelika Theater, I stopped by Urban Taco for a to-go order. I ordered their chicken quesadillas and FYI, they are three mini crunchy sections...way more like quick fried tacos than traditional quesadillas. I would have loved a bit more seasoning but overall tasted good. Biggest disappointment was that to-go orders do not come with complimentary chips and salsa. You will be charged four dollars if you order chips and salsa with your meal.

First “digital kitchen” at oomi I’ve been to. Scan the QR, place your order for any/all of the restaurants to choose from and depending on how busy, it’ll be ready in 20 minutes or so. Food was delicious and fresh.
