I've been coming to Royal China for years and have no complaints. The food is always good. Service can be a little slower during peak hours, but it's always worth the wait. My favorite is the lemon chicken, breaded with crispy panko bread crumbs, and the wonderful tangy lemon sauce (there is no sketchy, weird gray chickenish meat, but 2 huge white meat chicken breasts). This is the ONLY place I'll eat Chinese.
Just amazing! Food is definitely the best in Dfw! Fresh hand tossed noodles, services was excellent and very friendly! Nice atmosphere, we drive from Mansfield just to eat here and it's worth it everytime, word of advice get there by 5pm because everyone loves this place!!!!
So, I gotta tell you about this place called Royal China in Dallas. Our server, Shirley, was absolutely fantastic! She was super friendly and attentive throughout our entire meal. The food was seriously delicious - I mean, we couldn't get enough of it. The flavors were on point and everything was cooked to perfection. Plus, the portions were generous, so we definitely left with happy and full bellies. Overall, I'd say Royal China is definitely a winner. You should totally check it out if you're in the area! Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
This place does a fantastic job spinning a modernized take on classic and Americanized Chinese dishes. They were quite busy on a Saturday night; we had a 30-45 minute wait without reservations that went by quickly. All staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. We tried their Dan Dan noodles, soup dumplings, bao buns, and crispy duck. All were phenomenal.
First time visiting this place, and it was packed. They have a bar at the front where you can grab a drink while you wait, but it is so small. We had the dumplings and meatball soup for appetizers, and the dumplings were normal, but the meatball soup was absolutely delicious 🍲 for dinner, we had the red snapper🐟 and jalapeño chicken. Both came with rice🍚The fish was really really saucy and that threw me off a bit but the flavor was still there. It did have a bite so be aware if you don't like spicy food. The jalapeño chicken wasn't as spicy as we thought it would be but it was fine. I would definitely come back to try other things!
Another KNOCKOUT!! Everything was incredible. Even the scallion pancakes are something to write about. Their soup dumplings have a fatty broth to them which makes them out of this world, and so succulent! My son got lemon chicken. It's served katsu style and comes with a lemon broth to dip it in. Not only is this the most unique way of having lemon chicken, it's also the best! The chicken is thin slices with perfect crisp and the sauce is an explosion of flavor. Wife or the mao po tofu and it's a punch in the face in the most amazing way. Not overly spicy but with a bite! I'm not sure you can go wrong here so pick something and get ready to be left completely satisfied. Not to mention the service! The staff is so friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is fun and energetic. Don't pass on Royal China!!
First time, dine in service. Wait was 20 minutes for two on a Friday night at 7:30, so not bad. The place was pretty lively but not overbearing. We ordered the dumpling sampler (8/10, chicken dumpling was the best), egg rolls (7/10), orange chicken (6.5/10), and the La Mian Noodles (9/10). Definitely make sure you get the La Mian noodles, these were amazing! The service was quick and the food was reasonably priced, we will be going back for sure.
This was the first time we came here and we had a great experience!
As an Asian, I will say that this is the best Chinese restaurant in the DFW area! The ambiance is upscale and the staff was wonderful, so I believe this is a good option for special occasions and large parties.
This time we had Mongolian Beef, Sichuan Spicy Fish, Three Cups Mushrooms and Royal Prawn. All of these dishes were amazing, tasty and filling!
I will be sure to come back and try some of the other dishes!
I’ve been coming here for decades. The original owners son runs it now. They make their one pasta - noodle bar is the photo - faces the dining area. It’s fun to watch and hear the “thwap thwap “ when they beat the pasta into noodles.
As a traveler to Asia, this is pretty darn good. And the decor reminds me of more modern Shanghai restaurants I visited in the 2000s. And they serve soup filled dumplings. I first had these in Taipei in about 2004 where it was considered a new delicacy and ones here are how I remember them - bursting with flavor.
Food is always very good. A very popular Preston Hollow dining established for decades.
The restaurant had a nice vibe , dumplings were just ok , the only soup dumpling they had was pork which we didn’t try ! the dough was little thick for the chicken dumpling , egg fried rice and lo mein noodles were good.
first time coming here and we had a great experience! we got the dumpling sampler, salt and pepper shrimp, spicy fish, pineapple fried rice, and hand pulled noodles. everything was super tasty and this is a great place for special occasions and large parties. staff is extremely productive in seating parties before time and accommodating during crazy hectic hours and our waiter was very sweet as well. will be coming back in the near future :)
Quick and efficient service. Maybe too quick. Food is just okay. Balanced in flavor but not impressive. Dumplings are not hot, lukewarm at best. Won't return
