Wonderful genuine German food & service. They have always treated us like family. My Dad has been coming to Kuby's for 50+years, He & my grandmother were from Germany & always found a piece of home in Kuby's. Ziggi the waitress is the best & Jerry in the market is so friendly, he always gives my kids hugs & surprises. If they are ever busy, if one is patient, the service is even better than expected when one waits to be served😉. Always worth the wait. Accordion music in the evening is lively & very much adds to the German flare. Fine atmosphere and the best German restaurant & deli, hands down!
Kubys is a great place to get a good German dining experience, since the early 80s when The Jagerstube closed. My mother Marianne owned it and got all her meat from Carl Kuby. Our schnitzel was cut from veal and beaten paper thin before dipping in milk, egg, and breadcrumbs before frying. No one does it that way in Dallas. Kubys is still the best for food, atmosphere, and service.
Stopped for lunch while running errands in Dallas. As always the food was delicious and filling. We did miss the usual bread basket with butter that used to be on the tables. Was always such good fresh bread. Stopped and loaded up on meats on the way out
Great place to go if you're looking for authentic German meat.. The assortment of Delete and other products was this was amazing. Prices are pretty reasonable considering you're not in Germany.
The restaurant side was packed..
They had german breads And other condiments that are difficult to find.
I ended up buying way too many things.
Great lunch spot for authentic Austrian brats and beers. Highly recommend the three sausage plate. We also tried the German potato pancakes which were great to snack on as well.
Limited seating so get there early if you want a spot! Also, be sure to check out the market that is next to the dining hall when you’re done eating. Worth a trip for sure!
Home style authentic German food. Don’t expect haute cuisine or delicate herbs and spices. Rather, tasty homemade bratwursts, warm potato salad and handmade sauerkraut. The wait staff hustles for every one.
I can’t wait to go back!
Decor was very German-like and the market was small but had so many necessities that you would want! Food was pretty good and I really loved the fact that they gave you wasabi to enjoy your meal with. A super cool concept but it works so well and complements the meat dishes!
November 2023: Today was our first visit to Kuby's since our home visit in 2020. The restaurant was shuttered then. But the grocery store was open. The service was impeccable, though guarded about the future.
Today, we were pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant. The food atmosphere festive. Now that we are back in the States for good, we can visit Kuby's every couple of months!!!!!
Wunderbahr!!!
Simply put, you've just gotta go to this hidden gem! Beam back to a German lodge with great food and drink! Love the atmosphere! The service is perfect! Plan on a little wait time to get seated due to popularity.
I shop at Kuby's Food Products is number one in Dallas, Texas. Everything is fresh. I love that place. Sometimes I have lunch in there. I love their Chocolates, particularly one that is imported from Germany.
I and my family love the place! This establishment consists of 2 sections: Fresh market and the dining area. We tried potato pancake, sausage sampler and smoke salted pork chop. They are all excellent dishes. Sauerkraut is just right. I don't know which sauce included in the sausage sampler but it tastes like fresh Wasabi. The minus point is the parking. You might find it difficult to find a slot in the parking area.
I used to come here with my family over 20 years ago and it was always a favorite. When I was able to come back last week I was hoping it would still be the same. It was BETTER than I remembered! Same wonderful atmosphere, food was amazing, and although it was busy, the waitstaff did their best to stay on top of it. I will make it a point to not wait so long to come back!
