We celebrated my best friend's 40th birthday here last night (2/15/17). We had the 9 course tasting menu and worth EVERY penny. So much love went into every dish and nothing disappointed. We couldn't wait to see what we were getting next and savored every last bite. I might have licked the plate(s) if it weren't polite. Lol. Our server, Danny, was phenomenal. When he presented the birthday girl with the signed menu (by the chef) of what we had eaten that night, it brought tears to my foodie fabulista's (Susie's) eyes. And that's when I knew we had succeeded in giving her the best gift of food love. 😍The ambiance, food and company (including ALL of the staff) will bring me back again. Thank you all again!

I rarely write reviews. I haven’t been to Abacus in a few years and it’s been 10 years that I’ve had a full on menu experience. I feel like I ordered food for a week. I always mention to my partner that I want to go back and do that long dinner experience again. Well finally I got my wish and oh boy, you did not disappoint. Everything was amazing! The cocktails, lobster shooters, sushi, the salad, the steak, desert and the extra touches of food you add to make it an even more special dinner. Thank you for making my birthday dinner one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. I will back more often. Thank you to your staff for a great evening.

This review was written for Abacus. Not Jaspers. I assume Jaspers has taken over Anacus, but I don’t think it’s the same menu. Came here with two other couples for the first time last night. Overall, we had a very good experience and an enjoyable meal. For the most part, I’d give five stars to everything we ate. The duck special was my favorite of the night. The Picasso roll was fresh and delicious. I loved the cafe brûlée dessert. The fries were a pleasantly decadent surprise. I liked the risotto, but probably wouldn’t order it again. The Brussels sprouts were great. I ordered the Secret Garden cocktail. It was delicious perfection. I probably wouldn’t ever order another cocktail there so long as that was on the menu. I did find some things about the service odd. It took awhile to get going. The host does not provide the menus. We had to wait for the server who greeted us first and brought drink menus later. Only it was one cocktail and one wine menu for a table of six. This wasn’t enough. We really needed one or two more of each. We were there about thirty minutes before we got out drinks. I wish we had received drunk menus upon sitting down so we could have ordered faster. BUT once we did get our drinks, everything ran super smoothly. I liked we weren’t rushed. Everything was perfectly timed. In some ways, it felt very European as our meal took about 2.5 hours. Our server was very nice and did a great job overall. It really was just the first thirty minutes I found odd. Luckily, we were in great company so it didn’t bother me more than a passing 🤔. The ambience of the restaurant was nice if a little dated. The restaurant as a whole lacked the modern feel I’m used to. Nothing wrong with that necessarily, as the food has certainly kept up, but I think it could use a bit of updating in the decor and atmosphere department. Overall, it was a great experience and I’d come back if I were feeling like a splurge. Which, on that topic, I will say I feel it should be labeled a $$$ restaurant and not a $$. From price point to atmosphere, it did not feel like most $$ restaurants I frequent.

The food, wine, staff, and atmosphere were all amazing. They have the best wild game I've tried in Dallas! The fried quail was great but the antelope was the best I've ever had. I'll be back very soon!

Good ambience and great service. We went here for our anniversary dinner, and were very pleased with everything we ordered for the night! (See photos) They have a wide selection of wines, of which we loved the Tenuta Guado Al Taso. Additionally, it was fairly easy to secure a reservation on a weekend!

One of the top culinary destinations in Dallas. A well curated wine selection, with a stellar menu of craft cocktails. The sushi is prepared very well. Five stars.

"The French Dirty Dozen" Spent a Sunday afternoon learning and working in the kitchen with a group of people that love to cook and create and the evening enjoying the fruits of our labor. What an awesome experience! Will definitely return!
