Appetizer were overpriced for the portions. Mains were phenomenal. Wish they had a proper cocktail menu. The atmosphere and decor is definitely outdated. It needs some modern touches all around. We enjoyed our time but will we go back? Not sure.

We picked this place because of the reviews and it's proximity to where we were staying in Dallas. When we arrived we were greeted and seated immediately. The ambience reminded us if a caricature of a French restaurant and we could hear the strains of an accordion playing somewhere. But don't get me wrong - the tables were set beautifully with white linen and sparkling glass and silverware. Our waiter Ramon brought water right away and asked if we were ready to order drinks. This is where it gets interesting. I ordered a Manhattan, my wife a Paloma and our friend an O'Doul's. Ramon went away and we were brought lovely bread and butter. Ramon returned and confirmed my wife's Paloma and the O'Doul's and asked me again what I had ordered. He came back soon with the Paloma and a tall glass for the beer. No Manhattan. A few minutes later he arrived with the O'Doul's and proceeded to pour it for our friend. Down the side of the glass and onto the table, that is. He just poured a little and then set the bottle down. We just kind of looked at each other like were in a Monty Python sketch. He returned a few minutes later with the Manhattan, which was superb. We had also ordered escargots bourguignon with butter and garlic sauce as well as the warm goat cheese salad with mixed greens, prosciutto, pine nuts, and asparagus with a balsamic vinaigrette. While we were waiting the accordion player swirled around the room playing both at tables and spaces in between. We decided his name was Pierre. The somewhat surreal nature of the experience was getting to us and we were laughing a lot. "Pierre" is an accomplished player, but sometimes it's a bit loud in the small room. The appetizers arrived and we dug in. The escargots were cooked perfectly and beautifully garlicky. The salad, however, is a rock star! The proportions couldn't have been better, the dressing was very well-balanced, and the toasty ball of goat cheese was gooey and warm all the way through. Just amazing. For our entrees my wife ordered the Flat iron steak with frites, our friend the risotto with scallops, shrimp and salmon, and for myself the scallop and shrimp linguine with mushrooms, spinach and champagne sauce. Ramon asked if we wanted anything else to drink and I said we would like 2 glasses of the St. Emilion with the food. Ramon said that would be fine and to remind him of that when the food came (?). And the accordion played on. The appetizer plates and silverware were cleared and then the entrees arrived via another server - very good. We were still laughing at the overall experience and having quite a good time. The we dug into our entrees. Oh, my. Everything was absolutely spot on and wonderful. My linguine dish was perfectly cooked and proportioned, with the scallops melting in your mouth and the shrimp with a perfect texture. the steak frites (medium rare) was outstanding and the frites were crispy, and the risotto was beautiful. And everything was piping hot, which not everyone gets right. The wine was deliver in 2 small carafes and poured into our glasses without hitting the table, and was very good. About this time we decided that we wanted a soufflé for dessert so we ordered the Grand Marnier version. Ramon took the order and confirmed that we wanted chocolate. No, we said, Grand Marnier. We also ordered crème Brule to share between the 3 of us. The soufflé arrived. It was just beautiful. Fluffed up high and light, the server cracked the top with a fork and we poured warm cream into it. Wow! This is probably in the top 3 desserts I have ever had, and that's a lot of desserts. The crème brulee was perfect as well. Overall this is a wonderful place with remarkably excellent food. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again and again, and heartily encourage everyone to do so. Say "hi" to Ramon and Pierre for us. They were fabulous.

This restaurant is a gem. Best French food I’ve had anywhere in Texas by far! The waiter was fantastic, there was a guy walking around playing some sweet jams on an accordion, the restaurant space and decor is stunning, and the food was 10/10. Great spot for a date or a fancy night out.

One of Dallas' finest for French Cuisine. The food and service are exceptional and an added plus is that you can actually carry on a conversation and hear what others at the table are saying! Eating at Cadot is a relaxing and rewarding experience, and be sure to say "yes" when they tell you about the dessert souffles---what a perfect way to end a truly fine meal.

10/10 highly recommend! We went here for the first time last night and will definitely be back. The lobster bisque was delicious, the French 75 was made perfectly - the food, the drinks, the service - all great! There was a live accordion player that really enhanced the atmosphere as well! I’ve struggled to find a great restaurant in this area and am so glad we found Cadot - can’t wait to go back!
