Shrimp Basket Cullman

Tonight was our 3rd time here and although the food was “good” 5 stars for the service from our server, Adam! Although the food was taking a while, and he had many many tables, our drinks were never empty and he was constantly stopping by to see if we needed anything! I spoke to the store manager to let him know how impressed we were with the service, and he was so kind as well!! The only negative was the 20 min it took the lady behind the bar to shuck the oysters we ordered because she kept stopping to have conversations with people and they had shell all in them. Otherwise, it was wonderful and we will definitely be back!

Read some prior reviews almost did not go. Glad we did. The wait for food was no longer than any sit down restaurant. Service was fast and pleasant. The shrimp basket and shrimp dinners were great. As was the fried oysters. Will have to try the key lime pie. The meals were 12 to 13.00, to me they were worth it. Had way more than we could finish. Was not disappointed. 😊😊

We're in town for a basketball tournament and unfamiliar with the area, so Google was our place to find dinner in Cullman. Thankfully, we came across The Shrimp Basket!! The restaurant is clean and the service amazing!! Hailey, our hostess, Heidi, and Keyland (the new GM) are so friendly and allowed us to sample the cheese grits which are fantastic. We ordered our food to go but wish we would have stayed for the all you can eat fish special (40 days of fish). We ordered the Cajun pasta, shrimp and grits and got the fried crab claw appetizer. Y'all. Just. Y'all. If you like seafood, definitely try here.

Let me start by saying this was our first time at this restaurant and many of the reviews mentioned how nice the service was and I completely agree. Next the food: The fried green tomatoes were fantastic being nice and crispy and were delicious. The remainder of the food was no so good. The shrimp were not crispy and then they were like chewing on a rubber band. The white fish was also not crispy. Neither the white fish or the shrimp were seasoned and were quite bland. The white fish were mostly stuck together and chewy. The fries were seasoned well but arrived limp and barely warm. Considering all of this, we are not likely to return.

Food was tasty but portions was tiny considering the size of the bill. We all left still hungry after spending $75 on two adults and one one child eating a basic plate of fish and 1 side per person. Won't be doing that again. Food places now days have went way downhill and charge a fortune. This is not how you get steady buisness or customers.
