was there a month ago and the food was really very good. Went back last night and everything was under seasoned and over cooked. The place has never been the cleanest and the wait staff under par, but until last night the food was at least good.  I will never go back and suggest no one else does either

Terrible Food and Service. On my first trip to Crystal River, FL I saw a restaurant and I wanted to try it. So we went and the service was okay but very slow. The food was decent but the shrimp was VERY tiny and the fries were cold. Also the fried chicken was dry and the wings had little to no meat on them and thy seemed dunked in sauce no marinade. I would not recommend this place to anybody else.

Go somewhere else!!. $18.89 for a rib-eye that was totally disgusting...stringy, fatty, I could barely cut it with a my knife. Service was awful...we were served our soup after the entrees were served and then the server was surprised we no longer wanted it. I watched as other diners were served one meal(no sides delivered with meal) and they waited forever for the second meal (also delivered with no sides)...drinks were being sent back.....my rare steak was almost raw...my moms prime rib ordered medium was almost raw. Save yourself....go someplace else!!

A great experience. A group of 22 from a local rv resort ate there tonight and we had a great experience. The rear room was reserved and seated us all comfortably and our waitress was absolutely outstanding - she was attentive to all our requests and served us admirably. From the delicious and plump raw oysters to the various entrees everyone was very pleased. I have seen negative reviews previously but whatever action was taken to reverse that issue has worked perfectly. We also eat there after playing golf often and offer the same excellent reviews.

Probably won't be back. Place smells old, think prices are high for what you get, seafood we had was good but sides weren't great and service not the best. Been in Citrus County area for five years and finally decided to visit Claw Daddy's when I had family visiting because I knew somebody that said they had good oysters and salads. Since we had never been, we were asking about different menu items and the response was always the same from our waitress, 'I have a lot of customers that seem to like it'. I ordered broiled scallops and the flavor was simply said, gross. Didn't care for the seasoning used and they were gritty like they had sand sprinkled on them. I never ever complain or return food at a restaurant because I've heard stories of servers messing with the food but when I said the issue with the scallops and that'll I'll just eat my sides, my hubby called over the waitress. I exchanged for same priced item, fried shrimp. They were kinda small but good. The red potatoes were bland. The hush puppies were ok but the tiniest ones I ever saw. The coleslaw was awful, tasted watered down and like it had double the sugar needed if not more. And a manager didn't even come to table to apologize for the scallops, nothing was deducted from bill, nothing was offered when I had to sit at table waiting for replacement while family eating their food. My family ordered fried catfish and broiled fish (I don't remember which kind) and they all enjoyed the fish but didn't care for sides. We had to flag down waitress to get drink refills. Disappointing experience.

An unexpected surprise. It was 9:15 and all the grills were closed down for the night. Someone recommended Lollygaggers, but we got scared off by the biker vibe in the doorway, so we drove down Route 1 to a little shopping center with a Dollar Store, a Chinese takeout, and Claw Daddy's... and what a surprise it turned out to be. Thursday night karaoke with a retired massage therapist and locals that knew the songs without reading the screen made an average pulled pork with fries and a cold beer truly memorable. A guy in great boots drinking diet coke say his soul out "knee deep in the water somewhere," showed us songs we've never learned. By the time we left, I was one beer away from taking the mic and searching for a tune on the tip of my tongue or in the depths of my heart... It's the place you are looking for when you spend just one night in Crystal River; you just won't know it till you leave.

Absolute worst dining experience I have ever had! Visited to celebrate my daughter's 17th birthday while on vacation. The waitress argued with us over everything from virgin daquiri being served in Styrofoam cup to it turned out to be a smoothie, prime rib overcooked and cut of meat way too thin, food was cold including bucket of seafood, fantailed shrimp, fries etc. The only tasty item was coleslaw. It was 2 pm on a Sunday when we visited only about 10 people in the entire restaurant and the service was that poor. They are in need of new management! Would not recommend at all!

Service is horrible, food was not good . Scallops are not even really scallops nor is the grouper . Prices are extremely high, being that the food is all precooked and packaged frozen food. I wouldn't suggest for anyone to go here . Crackers is right up the road with a beautiful river view and great food. Plus the servers walk around half naked in this place . Just all in all one of the worst restaurants I've had .

Took the family. the husband and i were interested in the all u could eat crab. the place was nice as was the waitstaff. the kids ordered their meals and smoothies to drink. Their meals were ok. portions could of been bigger. except my youngest oredered the mac and cheese which was disgusting. they went to order a second round of smoothies but apparently the machine had broke down. as another reviewer stated ...the next round of crab and there on after got smaller and we waited longer and longer for them. also when we ordered drinks and the kids ordered ice cream for desserts we had to remind her of straws and spoons...both times! And they were out of certain desserts....and towards the end it got hard to find our waitress. And for what i thought would be a good not expensive meal ended up being over 150. Not worthy meal.

Family and I went to claw daddys for my husband birthday we all order the all you can eat crab legs at $25.99 a head party of 6 . in the begining service was great as we order the second round of crab legs we waited a few mintues that was ok as we order the third and fourth round the wait time got longer for each round then the refills on the drinks stoped waitress just stop coming to the table so i call the manager over to express want was going on she inform me that we would had to wait for our fourth round of crab legs until the kitchen caught up with there 15 tickets that they fell behind on . if you ever order the all you can eat crab legs beware that the 1st plate as 3 sets of legs your 2nd order will have 2 sets of legs and you third order will only have 1 set we never got to the fourth round and each time the legs them selfs get smaller they make you wait so you get pissed off and leave when the waitress finally came back she brought the check didnt even offer us refills or dessert like she she was telling us you are done i tried calling the owner of claw daddys to express my experince in his restraunt didnt even call me back never again

Hellooooo theree!. Hello ClawDaddy goers! I am a server here and I love it. And really that is saying a lot because i have served in several restaurants and always found myself unhappy and not enjoying this type of work. But honestly this restaurant is a fun and up going place to work and hangout at. We are always trying to do new things and most recently we are adding some new items to our menu which i am excited to try! The gator would have to be my most absolute favorite and i will say i am not an oyster eater but my tables enjoy them and alwaysss come back for more! We have a good DJ every Friday & Saturday night that one of our lovely bartender/ manager takes advantage of and sings her little heart out to whenever she gets the chance. So if you're from out of town come on in and try us out, we will do our best to make it a great dinning experience for you! This goes for you locals as well, stop in and give our new menu items a whirl and let us know how they are! Hope to see ya'll soon :)

Great!. We set upon them, a party of eight. Though it was at the height of the dinner hour, and the parking lot was packed, we were quickly seated. We had the advantage of two capable and friendly waitresses so service was perfect. <br/><br/>We ordered several apps that were delivered at the speed of light. The jalepeno poppers were the best I have ever had, so I do not care if they were pre-frozen or not. They were crisp, tender and tasty. We also ordered wings, naked with medium buffalo....perfection, again. 1/2 dozen steamed Apalachicola oysters were fresh and perfectly cleaned. As good as we get in Apalach.<br/><br/>Sea scallops, shrimp and fish had a crisp, tasty crust. The fryer had to have been set at the optimum temperature with fresh oil. I did not taste the catfish, but my companion raved about his. He also loved the collards and my tasting of them left me sopping the potliquor. Coleslaw was finely chopped and very tasty. House salads were crisp with flavorful toppings. <br/><br/>In all, our experience was excellent and our very reasonable tab topped our night.

Blah. I really wanted to give this place a chance, but I really didn't like it. I was very bland and blah. I got the broiled scallops with red potatoes and green beans. It was severely under seasoned, so I had to add salt to everything and I don't ever add salt to anything! The scallops were also a little gritty and that grosses me out, so I couldn't finish the scallops. I probably should have gotten something fried instead. The plus side was that the server was very nice!

Relaxing and Fun!. I love going to Clawdaddy's... especially for the oysters in the winter months! Great food specials every night. 2 for 1 happy hour all day!! Fun atmosphere, cold beer and good food. Friday Luau and Karaoke is the best! Perfect place to relax after work, grab a bite and a cold beer. Don't come in looking for a 5 star restaurant and then complain. It's a good time w good food and great people! Put it on your list and come in prepared to relax and have a good time!

GREAT Food, Awsome Service. First off I would like to say that the hostess was very pretty and was very attentive to where I wanted to sit with a little girl and my wife she sat us by the amazing fish tank , When our waitress came she gave her name and all of the specials they were running that day .After that she asked us what we would like to drink than soon after she asked is we would like an app, normally we don't but the sea sampler just looked so good. We got it with in 7-10 minutes which is reallly fast. Everything was timed right after our app was gone she brought us our salads than came our meal ... NO WAITING what so ever, these girls look like they work VERY hard at what they do , So I don't get why some of you people on here are being so mean... Everyone has their bad days and it was probably one of them having a bad day , If you have never served before you really don't know how hard it is dealing with the public is . So how about give Clawdaddy's another shot!!! every Friday is the pig roast and all the servers dress up its a great time with music too. Also I just found out that happy hour goes all the way from 11- 11 thats ALL day ya'll ! oysters wings and 2 4 1 drafts , which by the way aren't over $3 they are only 2.25, NOT BAD IF YOU ASK ME! for Bud BL Killians mic ultra coors lite and miller lite , so i would give it another shot because whenever I bring my family there we ALWAYS have a GREAT time!!!

Claw-daddy's. I don't know where these people get the bad reviews i happen to love claw daddy's they have the best gator bites in town and the blackend fish was awsome the waitress were very polite my friend ordered scallops though they were outta this world and the steak was tender cut with my fork I WILL RETURN TO THIS RESTURANT.

Dissapointed. My wife and I read the reviews of this establishment. First off, both of us are in the "business" of restaurant management, so tend to have a bit of a critical eye. Seeing some negative reviews, we decided to try anyhow. Upon arrival, there was a hostess who sat the table in front of us but then never returned. It took about 5 or so minutes before a waitress came and sat us. She took us to one section and decided that wasn't right so then she ushered us around the establishment before finally settling us in a booth that coincidentaly, was hers. We ordered iced tea which arrived fairly quickly and the calamari and steamed clams. I attempted to order the raw oysters but she informed us that might be a bad choice because many had been sent back. We appreciated that advice. The calamari were tender but were served with the standard canned marinara. The clams were high priced, gritty and didn't come with any accompaniements such as drawn butter which was dissapointing. We had the surf and turf special which was "new york strip" which wasn't and fried shrimp and also the soft shell crabs. The breading for the crabs and shrimp was so salty that it rendered them practically inedible. But at $18.99 for the crabs they had to be choked down. The steak was tough, grissely and really just plain bad. The sides were uninspired, plain boiled potatos and collard greens which were just bad. Unfortunately, across from our booth a mother and her son arrived and although the waitress did bring them their drinks, she never stopped back although she did pass by their table at least 20 times. They got up and left. So for $50.00 we got 2 bad meals, but hey the iced tea was good. <br/>If you are going to dress up young ladies in shorts that barely cover their, well you know, and shirts that barely cover their, well you know, how about training them to also deliver service. Overall, this restaurant is dirty from the front door back, food is lackluster and the service, is very poor.

Amazing Atmosphere!. I just love the tropical Florida decor of the restaurant. The servers all all very friendly and hard working, pretty cute if ya ask most of my friends! The food was awesome my only problem is deciding what to get each time! The owner is always seen around and i just love that he is one of the most friendly people i have ever met.

Perfect Seafood Restaurant. If your into the Key West style of life, ClawDaddy's is the place for you. I personally loved it, the fishtanks, various antique fishing equipment set the mood.<br/><br/>I went on the Luau tonight, and was pleasantly greeted at the door by a nice gentleman with some delicious roast pig, compliments of ClawDaddy's.<br/><br/>I will be sure to eat there again.

Dont waste your time, go to mcDonalds instead. Well to start off our waitress did not know where her section was,we sat for 10 mins before i got up and asked for a waitress.she was unable to write down our order and get it correct, she wrote down "B" for balsamic salad dressing and forgot what the b stood for and brought ranch. she was nice and did try to do her job, she was just horrible at it.. now for the food i ordered blackened grouper and it tasted like it was broiled only, my wife ordered the "bay scallops" they were very good but there was only 9 of them the size of a nickle and the price was $16.99.. we also ordered 1/2 bucket of oysters and lightly steamed and they arrived over cooked and rubbery.. the draft beer was over 3 dollars each.. so overall not only will i never go back but i will not even look in that direction when driving by..
