A cute little specialty shop in downtown Crystal Lake. Great variety of olive oil, balsamic vinegar and dips. A little pricey, but well worth it. Staff is friendly and helpful amd will give you a sample before you purchase.

I love having a local olive oil / vinegar store! buying from a supermarket is such a gamble. Marketing and descriptions never accurately describe the product. At the Olive Tap, not only do you get to actually taste any oil/vinegar but you get an expert explanation of the product and process. They help you drill down on the exact taste you are looking for. They have such knowledge of their products it makes the shopping experience fun! Never buy a bad oil or vinegar again, you must shop here!

The shop is wonderful, the woman working was incredibly helpful. It was so much fun to go in and taste all of their different oils and vinegars. The woman who ran the shop even blended oils and vinegars together for us to try and help us decide what to get. I came home and immediately cooked with my products. My meal was delightful, I cannot rave more about this little shop.

We love the Olive Tap. It has a wonderful selection of seasoned olive oils and balsamic vinegars in many different flavors. I have tried several and always found them fresh and deliciously entertaining. We give the olive oils to our office workmates as Christmas gifts which they always enjoy. The store also has expandrd into quality sausages, soup mixes and related items. Perfect for gifts or personal enjoyment.

I LOVE this store! Will never buy my olive oil or balsamic vinegar anywhere else. Was just there today to restock on my Lambrusco red wine vinegar. It is amazing and you will never be able to use any other red wine vinegar once you try it!!! Well worth the price. I’m hooked 😍

Our company used The Olive Tap in Crystal Lake to provide custom-labeled gifts for one of our large commercial accounts. Our client was extremely particular. Kristy, (owner) worked so hard through lots of revisions to make sure we were all happy. If you haven't checked out the store, please do...They sell so much more than oils. I tried the Olive Tap for the first time this week and loved it! There is a huge variety of infused olive oils, and they provide little sample cups to taste test before you buy. I'll agree that the staff did hover over us as we explored, but it ended up being beneficial, because she was able to provide us advice on pairings. If you try the Olive Tap, be sure to ask for a rewards card. They'll keep it at their location, so there is no need to worry about losing it.
