The Magic Meadows

Wonderful experience at Crested Butte Nordic. Everything was ready for us when we arrived. Skis and boots were fantastic, really nice equipment. We picked up a few supplies in the shop (opted for thinner, more fitted gloves than we used for Alpine skiing). Our instructor, Joellen, was so patient and really put us on the right track in a very short time. We ventured on the trails after our lesson and really enjoyed our day!

The Crested Butte Nordic Center and trails system provides the most beautiful and scenic areas to enjoy all kinds of recreation in the winter. I love taking my dogs on skate skis out to Mike's Mile or around the Town Ranch loops. I also love adventuring as a photographer with Mountain Magic Media to capture the fun that visitors have when they come to vacation in Crested Butte! I always see smiling faces on the groomed tracks, and I absolutely love the Nordic Yurt as a place for fun events like KBUT Bingo or Yoga with Thrive. They have an amazing sledding hill for the kiddos too! The covered skating rink is fun too!

We went here over our Christmas trip as one of our checkmark activities. This place has everything! Our family hadn't ever been skiing before. The employees helped us get fitted and geared up. The track was fun and challenging for all of us being first timers, but it wasn't enough for us to not have a blast. There is an outside, covered, ice rink... A sledding hill and play area... And right across the street, you'll find a little place called Mike's Pizza... Go in there. Order food. It's incredible. You might come back just to eat there again. The whole set up for this center is really nice and well thought out.

Two friends and I took a lesson with Siga yesterday through Crested Butte Nordic. Siga was a fantastic teacher, and the experience was amazing! So fun -- and a game changer for me in terms of skiing. I wish I had done this the first time I ever got on Nordic skis. In just an hour, I felt exponentially more stable, confident, and relaxed. I actually felt like I was SKIING after (as opposed to my previous shuffle)!
