Big Cheese & Pub

Grew up on this pizza for most of my life . So let’s say over 20 years, and I’ve never had a bad meal or bad experience. They have a restaurant in the back and take out in the front to suit both needs. Staff are always friendly. The food , is always amazing , from their pizza down to the baked chicken salad with house dressing …you will be satisfied. If your in Cranston or near by , you need to eat here .

I haven't been there in over 10 years do to moving away. Came there today for father's day to take my other half there to enjoy so real good food. Of course they never fail. Hands down the best place to go and eat. This was my husband 1st time but you Best believe not his last. In his words " if its not Big Cheese I don't want it." There was no wait what so ever. The waitress was super friendly. Repeated my order and all to make sure she had the right food. When she came with my order she gave the food to the right person and it was fresh out the oven.

We ordered takeout for lunch at the office, a couple of salads. They were huge and packed with all the goodies. And they made them so fast for pickup. No complaints with the food! I just found it really strange how stingy they are on giving you plastic forks. I just needed one for each salad, as this is going back to the office. When picking up I just asked if there were forks provided the girl assured me they were already in the bag. I checked the bag in the car and no forks. I took the salads completely out of the bag to make sure because I didn't feel like having to go back. No forks provided. It really was no big deal, but when I went back in and talked to the same girl again. I told her there was no forks and I needed 2, she insisted 'Am I sure?' because she was positive she put them in there. I told her I checked the bag and there wasn't any. Another girl walked by and said you probably just forgot them, and she insisted that she had put them in there. So again I had to say I am positive no forks in the bag, would you like me to get it for you to show you? She did give me a couple forks (no napkins) and continued talking to the other girl as if I wasn't there saying she felt the forks in the bag!!!! So am I a liar then? Strange experience, I won't be back because of this. Which is a shame because these salads both looked amazing! I posted pics, no forks! :)

We ordered a Spinach Pie, Classic Chicken and The Real Italian. Everything was cooked PERFECT. The chicken in the Classic Chicken was the juiciest chicken that I have ever had. The only thing is that I asked for the dressing on the side and did not receive it and I really wanted to try it. I can't wait to go back and try something else!!!!

This place should he condemned, windows boarded up caution tape and all. Had absolutely the worst nachos that I would not even feed to a starving child in Africa, they were so bad I thought it was some type of sick joke. And then there’s the pizza which I thought would be a saving grace, turns out I waited a half hour for a Walmart box pizza straight from the frozen aisles. Please, if you love your children and your wife, for the love of god do not eat here.

The legacy stars are from a different era. At one point the big cheese was worthy of it's top 10 restaurant status in Cranston - sadly this is no more. Please avoid this place now as they have lost their way, there is no attention to detail and the food is incredibly average at best. I cringe at the thought of a non Cranstonian coming here and expecting great things, they are sure to leave as disappointed as I was today.

Nice family friendly restaurant with standard Italian dishes, the Big Cheese is a very affordable place to go on a night out. The food is good, I had a calzone and my girlfriend had spaghetti and meatballs. The calzone was not sealed on the outside edge of the crust which I found interesting, but it was still very good. Nothing mind blowing here, but you won’t be disappointed either.
