We love going there for their great fish and chips. Since there is no comparable spot in South OC, we don't mind the drive. We got there today and was greeted with a disappointing sign saying they were no longer in business. They have another one in Fountain Valley, so we drove to that one. We were not disappointed. It was worth the drive.

I would give it a 4.5. The owner, who normally takes the orders, is very friendly and accommodating. Your meal will take 10+ minutes as each meal is made to order which means fish and fries are hot and fresh. Only 4 tables indoor and 1 outside so the space is small but very clean. They keep the ketchup and vinegar frigerator and bottles are also cleaned between each customer. A surprise spot amongst all of the 17th St "Promenade" good family meals and combos. Batter is on the light side and not overcooked. I would recommend. Been here a handful of times.

Really good fish and shrimp dinners. Only a few tables and the meal is best if eaten immediately. Luckily we don't live too far away.
