Taco Brat

Brat is for "bratwurst". And you can never drive by again without checking this place out. One of the things that makes the Newport area so special, is this kind of independent, outstanding, chill restaurants that are almost countless. Except they're not. Only some of them ate truly exceptional and this is one of them. Unbelievable soft pretzels with beer cheese and spicy sweet mustard. Tacos. Surprisingly amazing bratwurst. Elote corn with butter, and sprinkled Mexican cheese along with coconut shrimp. Another great Newport thing. An outdoor taco stand with really, really gracious service. Please stop by off hours, so you don’t make the line longer when I show up. Often. Outstanding

Fish taco, pretzel, and their beans were the stars of our lunches. I gave them fourth star for ambience that really entertained our kid's which let us enjoy brunch on a different level. Carne asada while plentiful was like beef jerky but still do able. We'll come back for sure. Maybe bring down the cost of the faux margaritas until they are made with real tequila. Staff were very pleasant, welcoming.

Delicious fushion of Mexican & German food. Beautiful remodel of a 60's taco shop that should win a landscaping award. Great list of draft craft beers including one from Iceland. Inventive cocktails as well as sangria by the glass or pitcher. Loved the happy hour tacos and discounted drinks. Totally dog friendly & nice staff. Will return many times.
