What's more, the convenience of valet parking made the evening hassle-free, ensuring a stress-free start to the dining experience.
The culinary journey began with the Cider Lowball cocktail, a flavorful delight that set the stage for the seafood extravaganza that followed. The oysters, accompanied by a variety of sauces, expanded my palate's range and added a touch of sophistication to the overall experience. The calamari was a standout, seamlessly blending textures and flavors to create a truly enjoyable dish.
But it was the fish tacos that stole the show. Crispy and delicately textured, they delivered a burst of flavor that was simply outstanding.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary at Water Grill for lunch. The seafood restaurant is very lovely, sophisticated, beautiful decor and cozy ambiance though the restaurantis large. They have a large Oyster Bar, cocktail bar, lounge area, large dining area and private dining rooms for parties. The interior is open to the outside with great interior spaces. The menu is extensive with a variety of selections to choose from. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered some cocktails, the half dozen Oyster Sampler, the wedge salad and the shrimp scampi. The food was delightful with local ingredients. For our anniversary, our server gave us a deep dish cookie which is their signature dessert. It was tasty eating 3 variety of cookie flavors. We would definitely come back again.
We arrived as a large group, and had plenty of food to share and try with each other. Incredible food, service and atmosphere. The lobster was so fresh and well prepared, possibly the best I’ve ever had. Same is true for the oysters. I look forward to coming again to enjoy another amazing experience!
This is my second visit. The ceviche is a little bit different style but still really good - just less acid taste. We love the overall experience to be here. The bread is good. The oysters are fresh. The waiters are all dressing up with their uniforms and very kind.
Water grill is one of my favorite spots to go to in Costa Mesa. Located across south coast plaza on Bristol. If arriving to your reservation after 4pm they only offer valet for 8$. This time the hostess did make us wait for about 10 minutes before seating us, which is a bit of an inconvenience when you have 3 kids under 6 years old. Our server, Sam (Samantha) was very good and explained all the questions we had regarding the menu. She was very friendly with my kids and very accommodating for their needs. She was very prompt with our food and drinks and noticed my mother in law didn’t like her meal and she took care of that, which was really nice of her. Overall great restaurant and will obviously return!
First time in this water grill, and it was amazing! Restaurant is beautiful and cozy, the interior design is more beautiful than San Diego water grill.
Service, food and drinks were excellent.
We ordered some king salmon roll, roast beets, New york and calamari and everything was fresh and with really good flavors. The new york steak was on point.
I just recommend to make reservation because it was full.

Seafood here is impeccable! Everything was amazing! The scallops were top notch - juicy, tender, and so fresh!
Service was impeccable as well!
Great food and still so many things I want to try. Might be some of the best clam chowder I’ve had on the west coast and the Scallops I will definitely have again. I usually go easy on the carbs but the rolls looked so delicious and sure enough they didn’t disappoint!

First time here to celebrate our birthdays and anniversary and it was amazing!!! The decor, seating, the bar, plating, and even the bathrooms were beautiful. Staff was so kind, attentive, and engaging.
Our server was Jessica- she was honestly the best! The food was so fresh and it was one of the best steaks (14 Oz NY Strip) I’ve had with their house chimichurri. No steak sauce needed 🙅🏻♀️ The Cesar salad was a little too saturated with dressing but still good. The Bloody Mary was really good according to my husband. the mashed potatoes needed some salt and pepper but still delish! My husband got the New England lobster roll Connecticut style- he loved it! He tried the Honeymoon oyster and was a fan. He tried the sea urchin and instantly regretted it. He’s someone who can eat anything but said it was like drinking salt water- so at least it was fresh, he just did not enjoy it but glad to have tried it. Jessica offered to take it off the bill which we declined since it was just his personal preference and nothing wrong with the urchin itself. Despite us still wanting to pay for it, she took it off. She was really kind and an amazing server. We appreciate you so much.
For our celebrations, they brought us a baked cookie trifecta- 1/3 brownie, 1/3 snickerdoodle, and 1/3 chocolate chip raisin with a scoop of creamy ice cream- DELISH!! Since it was morning, valet was free (don’t forget to tip!). You can tip in cash or card.
This was a beautiful dining experience and we will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful 8th anniversary lunch 🩷
