Review Mastro's Steakhouse - Costa Mesa

The $100 steak was a carnivore’s dream – succulent, perfectly seared, and bursting with flavor. Paired with delicious mashed potatoes, creamed corn, Brussel sprouts & fries. Just when I thought the culinary experience couldn’t get any better, the dessert arrived – a butter cake masterpiece. The rich, velvety texture of the butter cake was a sweet conclusion to the savory feast. This dining experience was a symphony for the taste buds, a perfect blend of savory and sweet that left me thoroughly satisfied and craving more.

my wife and I loved it! It was our anniversary, and it was an amazing experience ❤️ the food was worth it for sure!! The service was wonderful and it looks beautiful inside. The lobster Mac and cheese was amazing, the herb chicken was very tender and juicy, the king crab fried rice was really good!!! We tried a little bit of everything but the portions are good enough for two people.. I'll definitely go back again its worth it for sure!😄😋

Food, cocktails, and wine were sublime. Had the bone-in Ribeye medium rare, half dozen Oysters, and the roasted brussel sprouts; all amazing. Good service, pleasant ambiance. The only downside to my dining experience was that it was too dark to read the menu's small print that I needed to use my phone flashlight.

Stopped in for a nightcap and dessert. Sat at the bar, was seated quickly. The place was pretty busy and boisterous, but it was a Friday night. Bartender was super friendly Cocktails we're good and the pecan pie was great!

King of steak houses: the best of the best. Bone in ribeye, bone in filet, and New York Strip is an absolute MUST! Lobster mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese, creamed corn, and brussel sprouts are my favorite sides.

One of the best if not the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food? Delicious The service? Unbeatable The drinks? Incredible The first time we came here was for my birthday and we had such good service from our waiter Jason we enjoyed ourselves so much. We came back for NYE dinner and stayed until 2AM, again we had Jason as our waiter. Even with a busy dining room he still delivered impecable customer service. I’ve been to other Mastro’s but this location is by far my favorite, from the service to the food and drinks, everything is better here. If you get Jason as your waiter you are lucky, he goes above and beyond and honestly his customer service is enough to make you go want to go back.

I recently visited Mastro’s to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. We arrived on a Sunday evening and were greeted by the hostess, then promptly seated. The atmosphere is upscale and the service is amazing. Our server Jason was excellent and made great suggestions, including trying the warm butter cake for dessert. I always recommend adding a side of truffle butter to any steak. I recommend visiting this establishment that is centrally located and near South Coast Plaza.

My son and I love this spot! We go there a couple of times each year during my summer vacation. We always sit at the bar and get a very intimate service from the bartenders. The steaks are excellent. My son had a pork chop that was delicious! Looking forward to my return!

One of the best fine dining chains. This new port location was very neat and sophisticated. Servers are very knowledgeable and food was excellent. Tried both bigeye tuna steak and seafood tower. Both tasted excellent. Highly recommend this place for business dinners.

Amazing restaurant. Can’t speak highly enough about the food and the team. Patrick is incredible, but everyone was very lovely. Really hope to come back again soon! Recommend the pork chop! And I wish I’d had a chance to try the pecan pie!!

This place was probably one of the best places I visited so far. From a very professional and helpful valet to a beautiful hosts that escorted us to the bar where we had a drink since we came earlier. Devine and Jasmine (My apologies for misspelling) were so friendly and recommended us some wines and cocktails to start with. BJ at the restaurant was so knowledgeable and polite,oysters that he recommended were so fresh and delicious as well as their signature black truffle gnocchi. We all had a steak for the entree with some double baked potatoes. Meat was perfectly cooked that you can literally cut it with a spoon. Last but definitely not least the lady that played the music that night, she was above and beyond. Sadly I don't know her name, she was played few songs by Lady Gaga and brought the entire experience to another level. On the end we got a complimentary dessert which was so nice. We will come back most definitely whenever we are in the area.

Beautiful interior. Great ambience. The steaks are wonderful. Great place for a date. Good staff.

Martinis? Delicious. Build your own seafood tower? A must, so tasty!! Appetizers and sides, all delicious, but reminder you're sharing and they're larger portions... We ordered way too much! Wagyu sushi was awesome. Butter cake was good, not the best I ever had but good. Service was bar none, absolutely impeccable. It's a great option for date night.

I have never been disappointed with Mastro’s. I celebrated my anniversary there and they didn’t disappoint. I had a killer rib eye with melted bleu cheese on top with sautéed jalapeños which is to die for. My wife the twin lobster tails. We shared the gnocchi, and sautéed shrimp. I give it a 10!! A extra dirty martini � with bleu cheese stuffed olives. I highly recommend sitting at the bar area. The singers are awesome and it creates a great ambiance.

Finest food, finest service, finest wine, finest ambiance, finest cocktails, finest dining and the list goes onand on. Thank you Mastro’s for always providing a top notch dining experience I have yet to see rivaled.

This place was awesome.. everything was on point it was great..the food was so good..our server was funny he knew his stuff he was awesome..that butter cake was the best..my first time here with family and friends was a high 5 high!

Mark is the best server there. Always request for him. Very experienced and very knowledgeable of the the menu. Cannot go wrong here. Food is always perfect and martinis are top notch

This was my first time at Mastro's Restaurant and I was impressed the way they presented the Seafood Mountain of Appetizers and the seafood were quite fresh and tasted really good. For the entree I had an 8 oz. Filet Mignon with the sides of green beans, garlic mashed potatoes and Mac & cheese. The same as the appetizers it was equally delightful. For dessert, we had butter cake with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream and it melts in your mouth.Overall, it was a great dinner.

What an amazing evening with friends, dining here for the first time. We came for happy hour, had cocktails, for me it was as a dry ice lemon drop martini.... (oh yum) a great bread basket, followed with a big shrimp that took up almost the whole plate, along with Caesar salad and a bowl of lobster bisque. We also had a bottle of wine, and of course dessert, which was their famous butter cake served with vanilla bean ice cream, raspberry sauce and clotted cream. . It out did my own Kentucky butter bourbon cake. Just fantastic! Also there was live music, featuring a pianist, guitarist and lead vocal singing bluesy numbers. These guys were great! I'll be back on a Tuesday or Wednesday to hear them perform. There's something about dining and listening to pianos , guitars, singing and just live music. Last night their opening song, was Leonard Cohens "Hallelujah". Amazing. Thanks guys. Can't go many places where they offer that. Great food, ambience, & great entertainment! I'll be back hopefully often.

We have dined at another location, and this one did not disappoint! Ambiance is quite good, although noise level is a bit too loud, but the service was impeccable, and the food, as usual, just delicious!

This is our 2nd time to celebrate my birthday with friends. We went before at Mastros, Newport branch. We’re all total of 8, all I can say is this is the “Best & Perfect Steak” ever. All of us love this place. I love the New York steak I order & Rib Eye steak my husband order. Excellent customer service, our host is really good and nice. I forgot his name. Awesome place with good music,desert, all steaks & sides we order are delicious. Highly recommended to all to celebrate any occasion. We’ll be keep on coming back here. Thank you Mastros!

Have a wondetful experience at this restaurant! The servers were great and when our order arrived late, the manager Sean gave my wife a free lobster soup and a free desert after our meal! I ordered the porter house steak and it was cooked to perfection! For the service and for the food I would say it is money well spend!

Last minute decision to dine before a show on a Friday night. Gracious hosts & waitstaff, excellent food, loved the piano & Jazz singer. If only we had time to stay & savor some Butter cake!

Good food, good service, if you seat at the bar area music is loud and everyone is talking very loud, and you’ll be seating right next to other parties, no privacy seating. Overall experience was good.

Great food, and service. Save room for dessert. Their main dishes and sides set the standard for other restaurant to follow. The desserts are worth saving room for. The whipped cream is the icing on this cake.
