Connected to Half Price Books. Indoor and outdoor seating. Cash or check only. I had the Vietnamese latte, and my husband had their drip coffee which was Ethiopian. Their coffee was good.
Enjoy the service and the cappuccino they made. Small cozy spot attached to book store. They have good amount of pastries that will have try on my next back.
They have a very nice assortment of coffee beans they roast themselves, why didn't I know that? I picked up a pound of Celebes Collossi, I've enjoyed them before from other roasters and these were no exception. The young lady that waited on me gave me a hot cup of coffee, very nice. Doesn't hurt to be attached to a Half Price Books. We visit this half price whenever we're in Corpus.....and i'll pick up some beans and a coffee drink. Good prices too.
An awesome place in the South side to study or work. Their WiFi is pretty good.
I ordered the avocado toast and it was delicious: plenty of avocado and a good quality slice of bread.
Flags of various countries hang unobtrusively from the ceiling which is a nice touch, and this place also connected to a Half Price Books.
A favorite place to go for breakfast for me. The workers already seem to know my order, and they're always very nice. Just make sure you bring cash, as they only take cash and check.
I’ve been coming here for years. It’s one of those places that, you must go by when in CC. Local to the core and a favorite by locals as well. The only downside: It’s cash only. There’s an ATM inside though. Plus, the friendliness of the staff, the great service and the homemade pastries, more than make up for it. It’s definitely an authentic coffee shop. They roast coffee as well, so you can buy some for home/office. You could grab a book from next door at Half Price and come on by to Cafe Calypso and enjoy some coffee w/a good read.
I tried a Chai hot tea this past Sunday. It was so so Damm good y’all. I’m almost reluctant to leave this review because I don’t want anyone to know what I found. The service was nice and fast. They gave me samples of coffee. Brochures and the atmosphere was nice as well. The only negative is that it closes at 8pm.
The most hip place in Corpus. Cash only and being attached to Half Priced Books keeps the pretentiousness down. Fresh baked treats and coffee are really good. I recommend the “Blondies”. Probably the best place to sit and enjoy a coffee in Corpus. Reminds me of an international hostel in the 90s lol. 10/10
Amazing atmosphere. Kind people, nice environment. I love that the bookstore is connected with it. Really, the space is inviting.
Great place to have very good coffee at a good price! The food was also good and we loved having a book store next to it so we could walk around and buy some books!
