The Food came relatively quick and it was interesting to people watch. We ordered the garlic knots and the fontina add sausage. The garlic knots were a bit crunchy but good. The pizza had a perfect NY crust but toppings were underwhelming. They did have real Parmesan cheese which was a win. All in all not as good as sgt pepperoni but still holding its own. Would definitely come again when in the neighborhood.

Got a classic 12" pie with three toppings. Oh, the crust. Right thickness, crisp perfection and that dusty char... then bubbly cheese and the toppings were another level; plentiful, fresh, delicious.

Brought my partner here for lunch. Very delicious pizza and great service. We had pepperoni pizza slices and an order of their garlic knotts.
Amazing pizza! We drive out from LA and the pizza was well worth it. Toppings cheese and crust were all perfectly done. More importantly the sauce to bread ratio was spot on!! The seating area is a bit small but understandable for the area. I will definitely be back!
I ordered several pizzas to be delivered to the beach for a work event. Not only were they on time but I ordered the wrong amount so the owner took it upon himself to run back, have several more pizzas made and delivered back to the beach within 30 minutes! It was so incredibly above and beyond and the pizzas were delicious!! Highly recommend.
I caught the sign of this place driving down PCH, heading to Crystal Cove, and being from The Bronx, I HAD to stop in and check it out for myself. Well, I'm floored. This is the most authentic/accurate flavor and texture of "NY Style" Pizza I've had in SoCal. I don't know how they did it, but I would argue this is legitimately indistinguishable from the real deal. Add to that the fact that for $5 you get "two" slices (they're comically oversized). I'm absolutely coming back.
I'm infinitely curious what it is they do different here at Johnny's from every other "NY Style" spot I've been in SoCal. These other places are always somewhat close, but never quite there. Johnny's is so incredibly spot on, that I would believe it if they got shipments from back East and they don't even make them here! 🤣
I need to speak to the owner and find out how they did it. Maybe they import NYC water? lol

When we are in CdM and have a pizza craving, we go to Johnny's! Great pizza, great service, and great location! Been coming here for years even before the new management took over. Best pizza in CdM and I am from the East Coast, so I know! Check out Johnny's next time! Also the Buffalo Wings are great too! Pizza and wings... what else can you ask for?!? Oh, yeah, beer!!! Go down the street and get beer from Newport Liqour!
