CORAL GABLES, FL. – Conveniently and strategically located in the heart of The Gables, Pasion del Cielo seems to keep up its momentum since it open its doors and it’s a better alternative than the beaten path of Starbucks and Einstein Bros. Bagels on Miracle Mile.
At brunch time I noticed that there are no formalities here. Flip-flops, t-shirts and double-breasted suits all waited in line to get their java fix.
As a coffee connoisseur, I didn’t notice a huge taste difference among all of their high-altitude coffee beans. Their Brazilian blend which they rate as a “low acidity” didn’t have a distinctive taste and it was medium in acidity. And if you take your coffee with cream or milk it probably won’t taste any differently than Starbucks’ roasted brand.
But aside from their coffee taste, Pasion del Cielo does have a very cool décor, especially at night. Comfortable couches with cushions and leather sofa seats are a clear indication that they want you to sit, enjoy your coffee and stay long after you finish.
However, the most comfortable seats are always taken by students with laptops or people that come over to work out of the café. The shop has lots of plugs to connect devices and the WiFi is pretty fast here.
Thunder struck in the sky as I took my last drink, and the dark clouds were fast approaching. It was a sign to move on. Keep moving and don’t look back. The passion of the sky will always be with you.

Pass on "the bucks" and hit this place. Great coffee selection and tasty snack items. Ham and cheese crossant is great and the chorizo empanadas rock.
The coffee here is ground and made to to order. You will need to choose from the “Country” of your choice when selecting your beans. They’ve also got a nifty cheat sheet which lets you know on a scale of 1 to 4 the Aroma, Body, Flavor and Acidity of the bean in question. What sets this four-year-old coffee shop apart from others is its diverse amount of coffee choices. Pasion del Cielo carries 11 different varieties of organic coffee beans, which are carefully selected from some of the world’s most exotic countries. When ordering guests can also see a comparative chart that describes the levels of aroma, flavor, body and acidity in each coffee.
The flavor in this caramel frappe was out of this world and that's not a compliment I hand out easily or often. It's no surprise that Pasión Del Cielo was Miami New Times' Best Coffeehouse for 2010. The flavor in their frappe was robust and completely, refreshingly different to any frappaccino I have ever had in Starbucks. Even their whipped cream was thick, creamy and tasted home made. I drank every last sip of that frappe and was left wondering why in God's name this place hasn't expanded and opened up other locations.
I go to this coffee shop maybe two to three times a month. It's a nice place to get work done. I really enjoy that they have a selection of different beans that you can pick from and they are all from different areas around the world. Worth checking out.
Very nice alternative to Starbucks. Good coffee and good WiFi. Good selection of sweet eatibles and reasonable prices. Small but pleasant outdoor seating area.

Short version: We visited in family to have a coffee and they have decaf and non-dairy options which I believe makes it great.
Long version: Beside the different options, they also carry muffins, pastries, sandwiches and salads. Great for a quick pick or a nice conversation with friends or family. You might probably find a line but because of the whole process of prepare a good coffee.
Excluded: the restroom, I never used it.

The staff is attentive to detail and the coffee that they serve is even better! They have so many different types of coffee that you will surely enjoy. The location could also not be better. The only downside is limited seating. You might have a tough time finding a table to enjoy your cup of Joe.
Very nice coffee shop. I just had a passion fruit iced tea, but it was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. The tea was refreshing and delicious. I recommend this place.
