My favorite Sandwich shop in town. Been going there for years. If you are looking for a great sandwich and soup, salad and ice cream, go there. You won't be disappointed. We just miss the owners, John and Roberta!
Best sub bread anywhere and the meatball sub is to die for. I will drive an hour each way to get a meatball sub each time I visit.
The subs are delicious and well packed with goodies. The bread is wonderfully fresh and tasty. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely return for more.
Great food, not so great service. While I've only been to City Subs a couple of times, I do have to say that their food is to die for!! Fresh, amazing, vegetarian friendly and the bread is made fresh right there in their clean-looking little kitchen. The first time we were there, we had a friendly person serve us, but the last time we went, the girl at the front looked at me like I was a moron because I didn't know the details of a sandwich (mind, I'd only been here once before) and then was rude, and overall looked miserable to be there. She didn't even say anything when she dumped our sandwiches onto our table and walked off. It was a terrible experience, but the sandwiches are good. Unfortunately, not sure if I'd go back after that. Put a smile on your face, honey. The world isn't that bad. And it helps with tips too.
Great Subs, Good Service, Delicious Bread. We went here because our first choice had a reserved party in their kid friendly area. I was desperately hungry, so we went here because it was close and we wanted to try it. Great choice, we were so glad!
The hubs ordered the #9 - Italian Combo. He loved it! It was a good blend of meat, the cheese was good, and all the toppings were great. In particular, the chopped pickles were very good and made a nice addition. This isn't any stinkin' Subway! So don't expect a ton of different topping. But, be aware the toppings will be of such better quality, you won't miss anything. I had the #19 - Turkey with an Attitude, and I was in sandwich heaven. It comes with turkey, bacon, cream cheese-guac sauce, sprouts and avocado. I was in delicious, creamy, avocado heaven. So much avocado, and I mean, really good, ripe, fresh, avocado! It was also loaded with turkey and tons of sprouts (which I love). The bacon was good quality, crisp and salty - although there wasn't a ton of it, it was actually just the right amount, considering all the fatty avocado.
In particular the bread was GREAT! They make it on site, and it is sooooo good, I probably would have just eaten the bread. It was white bread, but was flavorful, and just a bit chewy. Delicious!!
Service was good, and they had high chairs. Try finding one of those in a Subway. Highly recommend!!
Excellent Sandwich. Excellent quick service. Great fresh sandwich. Reasonable price. Will be my go to spot when looking for a good quick food when passing through Coos Bay/North Bend
Pretty cool little place. The food seemed fresh and ok, but what I thought was neat about city subs was the "local favorite" atmosphere. Ok sandwich, ok soup... But not the best. Try it for yourself.
DONT MISS IT. It is worth turning off 101 for two blocks to eat here. DO YOURSELF a favor and STOP HERE.
The Best Sandwich Shop in Coos Bay. I enjoy this place, fresh baked bread, a variety of ingredients and friendly service. They have a menu of different sandwiches and are willing to add or subtract any ingredients you like. The place is kept clean and the owners and employees have always been friendly. Whenever I have to go to Coos Bay and want a sandwich, this is where I go. They also have good soups, potato/macaroni salad, cookies, and Nanaimo bars. Prices are reasonable and its usually pretty packed at lunch time so get there early.
The bread!. I love walking into this shop, you can smell the fresh baked bread. I usually get the Gourmet Veggie because of the crunch of the fresh peppers and onions, but this time I decided to try the daily special: The Dilly. I wish this was on their regular menu! It has turkey and veggies and a dill cream cheese and the whole sandwich was sprinkled with fresh dill. So delightful and new! And bonus points for the fact that you can get in, have a sandwich with friends and get out before your lunch hour is up!
A++++. My most missed sandwich shop in Oregon. They have such wonderful sandwiches, not to mention deserts!! : ) They're staff and owners are so welcoming! Only downside... They don't ship to Arizona : (
Great sandwiches. Really nice people turning out some great food. Classic deli food, well worth pulling off the coast highway and skipping the fast food. Enjoy!
City Subs does not disappoint! They have won best sandwich awards, and they are well earned. The sub rolls are soft, warm, and delicious. Ingredients are always top notch. We visit regularly for a mouth watering hot sandwich. (On occasion I have needed a side of mayo, but that is easily remedied and given with a smile.)
Absolutely LOVE their food. Their bread, rolls, subs, and sweet treats are amazing!!! The only thing I don't like is, the business hours are not dependable. They do have posted hours on a sign near the front door, but unfortunately, on more than one occasion in the last 6-8 months (not on a holiday) I showed up to discover a sign on the door simply saying closed for the day during times that their hours state they should be open. Also, their listed hours on Google did not match at that time. On a separate occasion, Google said open, and I went down there, and they were not. Lately, if we plan on having City Subs, we unfortunately have to have a plan B, just encase they are closed again. Otherwise, the food is fantastic and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. We do absolutely love this place and highly recommend it, but make sure they are open before you travel down there.
Amazing amazing amazing fresh bread... The sandwiches are great ... And you must try the soup... Any of them... You can't go wrong.
The staff is pretty awesome too!
Walked in and had a hard time deciding. Menu isn't overwhelming, everything just sounded great! Chose the Annie on the ranch their special and I knew I made the right choice. Their bread is amazing, fresh, soft and homemade. If I were in town longer I'd go back again! Thank you City Subs!!
Never a bad experience here. A welcoming atmosphere where they always remember your name.
The bread is so freaking delicious, and the ingredients are top notch. It's ever fresh and feels so good in the tummy. If you choose Subway over this treasure, I pity your taste buds.
Good homemade bread, good meat / toppings, very low prices for the quality. . Whenever I come through town I try to stop here! The scarlet turkey (turkey, cream cheese and cranberry sauce) is a personal favorite after trying most every option on the menu.
Yummy as always. Love fresh bread, so the bread to meat ratio is even. Lots of variety.
Thank you for the yummy sandwiches and pasta salad. The staff is friendly and helpful when deciding.
Doesn't seem like it used to. Still good, but the bread is different. Seems like it's way more chewy than before. Like a big hot dog bun. It's still a very good, fresh sandwich, but it's not like it used to be.
Ethereal subs. I recommend calling ahead and placing your order from 12-2pm. The line is long. It exits the store and goes onto the street around the corner.
Everything here is good. It all starts with the fresh baked bread daily. The baker arrives into the wee hours of the morning. Don't forget your alfalfa sprouts. Delicious.
I love the prices, the food choice, the cookies. Ladies are nice and large sandwiches for an awesome price!! :) If you come to the are TRY THIS PLACE! I visited while the pandemic had phone orders only, and I had to call a minimum of 24 times each time I ordered to get through. Sometimes more. This is why I did not give 5 stars! Enjoy your lunches all!
