Cafe' 103

I have been in a few times and the food is great and excellent service. There tends to be a long wait time but what do you do when it's the lunch rush? Call in your order! So, today I tried calling in my order so I didn't have to wait so long on my 30 minute lunch break. The gal who took my order was very bubbly and described the food I was ordering to be so delicious and I could hardly wait for lunch time. Noon struck, time to eat! I went in to pick up my cheeseburger and green been fries, but it still needed to be made. Fortunately, they got right on it, so I was still pleased and anticipating my lunch I have been craving since the night before. Until one gal put the frozen hamburger in the microwave to cook, and I lost all hope for my desired cheese covered grease sandwich. I don't mind the frozen all that much(you can't have everything), but microwaved? Anything microwaved is absolutely distasteful. The proteins are broken down and not useful anymore, the flavor is gone, and meat is mutated into rubber. I went ahead and continued the order, I had to get back to work. The green been fries are a really great comfort food, and I am pleased with my first try with them. Unfortunately, the cheeseburger was very dissatisfying, dry and depressing. With pregnancy cravings from last night wanting a tasty ooey gooey cheese burger with all the fixings you can fit on, it was not as comforting. Cafe 103, can you please invest in at least a small table top electric grill for the hamburgers?? That way you keep the juices and taste. The microwave just pulls out all the flavor and dries it out completely.

I ordered a panini for pick-up. When I went to eat it, the bottom bread was soggy and falling apart, and the spinach was soggy and didn't taste fresh. It was maybe 10 minutes from the time it was picked up to the time that I ate it. Being that this was my first time ever having eaten food from there, it was not a good experience and I won't be returning.

Eh. I thought it was overpriced for the food that you get. I got a crescent sandwich, and it wasn't even in the shape of a crescent (it was a square), nor did it have the flaky consistency it's supposed to have. Kind of dry really. Just not worth the money when you can go to a place Barman's or Mr. Sub for much better food at a descent price.
