Blake Street

I arrived at noon knowing it would be crowded. I was seated quickly and had an iced tea in minutes. I finally ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and bacon cheddar tater tots. I got my food an hour later! The tater tots were hot and very good but the sandwich was just barely warm and needed more seasoning . My waitress was seating customers as well as serving tables and even though in my opinion was overloadd still kept a pleasant countenance. The only reason I rated four stars instead of three was because of my waitress. I may try Blake’s once more for comparison but if my experience isn’t better there will not be a third time.

Sitting at table waiting for our appetizers for close to 30 minutes. Ordered shrimp cocktail and gator bites-which they didn't have. Ordered boudain balls by recommendation from the server to only find out they were out of those as well. So 30 minutes for a shrimp cocktail? Spoke with the owner and it is due to supply chain, but I'd hate to eat a flash frozen gator bite. The penicillin cocktail was tasty, but couldn't enjoy myself enough to order another one considering I wouldn't know if they would have what I wanted for dinner in house... The new restaurant looks totally awesome considering it was a car lot, but to be successful in a small town, the food has to be on point. A simple "86 list" to the servers could have made some of this a little better to swallow.
