The homemade bread was really good, the rest of our food was delicious, my only issue was, waitress dropped off the food and check at the same time and that was the last we saw of her. Guess I didn't need anything else, I'll overlook the aforementioned and allow the food to prevail. Quaint little place in a small TX town, not much going except what appears to be the locals. I will go for a second try.

Updates, had breakfast today with eggs over easy. Cooked perfect. A month ago I stopped in for quick coffee and pie (so sweet could hardly eat) but their pies do look really good.
Old small town coffee shop. And the Coffee was good. Got a Veggie Plate for lunch as I was too late for Breakfast. Beets -best, Lima Beans, Mac & Cheese - small salad. Just needed a little more flavor. Unsure if Seat my self or wait to be seated and staff just watched me wonder around for a while until I walked up to someone and asked. Hopefully amused them as being out of place. That being said its very close to Colorado County reverbished Courthouse, but I never noticed it before. Plenty of parking on street. Reasonably priced. Friendly, fast service once I seated myself. Will return.

Sweet little cafe!
Had the club sandwich and it was delicious!
Family had burgers and said they were great!
Don't know if we'll ever go back through Columbus, but we'd stop here again if we did.

A warm and friendly place to grab a bite. I've stopped at this place twice now en route to San Antonio. It's a couple of miles from I-10 but the short drive is worth it.
Food's made to order. Everything was good. The burgers and hamburger meat dishes... could use more seasoning on the meat. That was the only thing I feel could have made the dining experience better. Fries were really good. Any place that can get the fries right has chefs that know what they're doing.
It looks like a Family owned location frequented by the local crowd. Not a whole lot of parking but not scare either.

Cute little country style restaurant. We stopped here for breakfast while on our way to Houston. The food is very simple but pretty tasty. Fairly inexpensive. The restaurant located across from a historic settler home in the town of Columbus. It was fun to take pictures, explores and learn new things especially after having a nice breakfast.

Stopped in on the way to Houston for an Astros game, looking for something local. And this is LOCAL.
First, this place is bare bones as you can get. Tiny tables, napkin holders and ketchup on the table, and sodas come in a can, with a glass of ice...
This is only a Breakfast and lunch joint, and they close at 2PM.
Everyone is a local, and everybody knows everybody. Many Cowboys and blue hairs. The staff are friendly and attentive.
Their prices are excellent for the portions provided, but again, this is DINER food, and bare bones!! But it’s comfort food.
I had the Chicken Fried Steak with amazing cream gravy, that I imagine is what brings in folks for a biscuit and gravy breakfast.
The breading was crisp, and well seasoned, the steak while tender, could have been a tad more tender as I had to cut it with a butter knife. It came with thin, fresh cut fries, which were fine, and a lettuce tomato and onion side salad, which was again, bare bones, but fresh and tasty.
My wife had the Cheeseburger and onion rings, and a piece of homemade cherry pie.
They have half a dozen homemade pie selections daily. The burger was well seasoned and had good bun to meat ratio, the onion rings were hand battered very lightly.
The cherry pie was very good, the cherries were not canned, and the crust was flaky.
Two meals and sodas for $20+ tip
This is a little gem.

If you are traveling along US 10 between Houston and San Antonio or Austin, a breakfast or lunch stop at Beckey's is a must. Pass by the fast food stuff at the junction of 10 and Hiway 71, go straight North a mile or so into old Columbus. We recommend the Cowboy Breakfast with homemade biscuits, bacon thick and crisp and sausage perfectly seasoned. If closer to lunch, the Cheeseburger is as good as it gets around these parts. But watch the clock, she closes at 2 pm.

I ordered a BLT, the bacon was precooked and refrigerated, they didn’t even heat it before they put it on my sandwich. My husband told the waitress and she took it back and the heated the bacon and she took my meal of the bill. I feel it should NEVER have came to the table like that.
