Huck's Place

This place was packed and had a 45 minute waiting list, at 730 pm on Friday night. Be sure to call ahead. On Saturday night about 515 pm there was still a 45 minute wait to be seated. We had chicken alfredo with one side, and a chicken breast with two sides. The sides were a baked potato and dirty rice. The sauce on the chicken was a nacho cheese sauce, not great . The dirty rice, was over cooked. The potato was good. As it was served, not much was on the main plate, as you can see. It would have been better if one of the sides was served on main plate

This place is a treasure! We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The redfish and the crawfish were great. You have to try the boudin balls! The restaurant is located in an old downtown building and still has the atmosphere about it. Parking can be a little dicey, so you may have to park around the corner or down a block or two. If you are in Columbus, MS, I highly recommend you stopping in for a bite to eat.

Went on Friday 6/3 the wait wasn’t to long but the food was not worth the money at all. We had the mozzarella bites,fried pickles,and the shrimp dip. The bites and pickles were good the skin on the pickles were kind of soggy but not to bad.the dip was horrible it was to fishy and and greasy when we brought to the waiters attention she brushed it off and said it was seafood, just because it’s seafood does not mean it is supposed to taste like it was still swimming around in the water. As we were leaving the waiter made a smart comment about our kids. It wasn’t my 1st time going to Hucks but I can assure it will be my last.

Just wanted to voice my disappointment in my experience at Hucks tonight. I have never had such a terrible time at a restaurant in my life. THEY threw US out because my husbands shrimp was raw and when they brought him a new steak and shrimp the steak was raw. The “owner” thought it was unnecessary that she be bothered with displeased customers and came to our table twice annoyed that she had to do her job. What they did was dangerous, by serving us raw seafood yet she was unapologetic. Instead of trying to fix the problem she asked us to leave and not come back. Do yourself a favor and stay far away. In a world where it’s hard to trust online reviews I was reluctant to post anything about this issue but it was so embarrassing to be thrown out of a restaurant simply because they were unwilling to address their own incompetence.
