The Speakeasy

My Wife and I had lunch here today. First time customers. The staff was very welcoming and the service was excellent along with the food. The Cocktails not only had presentation but we're exceptionally good as well. This place is definitely a hidden gem because I have been passing by it for some time then finally decided to give them a try and I am so glad we did! We shall return!

Quaint little place, kinda hidden behind CVS. We found this place yesterday for lunch. Nice staff, lots of folks working, very few customers but it was between lunch & dinner that we stopped in. Our food was delicious! Hubby got the House lasagna, really good flavor, coulda used some more sauce since it tended to dry out a bit around edges. I got the Roast beef dip, sandwich was perfect. Au jus was a bit boring, but I'd still order this again. Didn't care for the potato salad. Tasted store bought instead of homemade! We did enjoy this place though!

The food is great and wait staff has always been super nice...the hosting staff and management on the other hand are a bit rude. I've been told once "we are super busy right now so if you want to wait you can but i can't tell you how long it will be." with a more than average amount of attitude once before. Presently, while I know reservations for a typical lunch aren't accepted, today 12 people from our office wanted to eat lunch there so I called to see about reserving a table for us. An understandable request since it's a large party. Not only was I told that they can't take the reservation, but I was told due to short staffing and them being so busy, they wouldn't even consider putting a few tables together for us. I called another place and they instantly understood that my reservation request was to keep them from having to do all this and our large group waiting an hour and said no problem. I suppose, based on the common theme and attitude, the Speakeasy is too busy to worry about making their patrons happy. Edit: Very Professional Ian... You wouln'dt even put tables together for us, man. I didn't ask for anything special. I was simply attempting to make it easier for someone to sit such a large group. Most of the attitude does come from the lady that's at the door who I believe answered the phone...but you, just like in your review, acted like I was being ridiculous. We had a great time that day at another local establishment that got us in and out without causing an issue for them, for us, or for any other guests. Maybe they should share their secret to success. (it's customer service)

I doubt I will ever go back. We were waiting almost two hours for our food. The waitress had a major attitude my chicken salad was tasteless and the texture was like it was microwaved. I was pretty disappointed when I walked in. But had I know I was going to be paying almost 15 bucks for a salad that looked like it had been dusted with dirt. Do not waste your time or your money.
