Uncle Nick's Greek Fried Chicken

Why did I wait so long?! I had been waiting to try Uncle Nick's GFC for about 2 years. I heard about them on a former airing of the Big Bass Brothers on 610 WTVN(RIP John Corby). Having always been a fried chicken fan, I sought them out for a tasting. The first time I made an attempt to try them, they were closed. Granted, it was the week of Christmas, and they are a small business. I set them in the back of my mind for a future visit. The time had come, I mentioned it to my wife and she agreed! The flavor was incredible! Savory but not too overpowering, with just the right amount of garlic and pepper. I went with the #1(half head, 1 of each piece). I chose mac and cheese and green beans as my sides. The mac and cheese was good for a standard variety. The green beans were excellent to me in that they weren't oversalted more so as they were only seasoned with butter. I also decided to order a side of wings(7 piece). Up until now, my favorite fried chicken was Culver's. But sadly Culver's discontinued making it. Uncle Nick's is clearly the best around and my new favorite.

Hot crispy fried chicken at a very decent price point! Their location doesn't have a lot of seating - a few tables and chairs and that was it. Looks like they mostly do carry out or catering. My party of 6 pretty much took up a majority of the chairs and tables they had when we were there. Food wise, we ordered two each family pack of the boxed chicken dinners, thinking that 12 pieces of chicken wasn't sufficient to feed all of us but it ended up being plenty of food! The chicken came out piping hot and delicious. The breading was perfect - not overly thick - and well seasoned. Also thought that their coleslaw was great. For the price and taste of the food, I think I may have found the perfect place whenever I need to satisfy a fried chicken craving! Will definitely be back!

A friend had suggested recently that I eat at Uncle Nick's Greek Fried Chicken because their fried chicken is delicious. When she had described their location [on Northwest Blvd. near the intersection with W. Third Ave.], I immediately realized that I ride past there on the bus whenever I am traveling downtown. So I ate at Uncle Nick's Greek Fried Chicken yesterday [10-29-2018] on my way downtown; my friend is correct; their fried chicken is delicious. Uncle Nick's Greek Fried Chicken prepares all of its food "from scratch," which means that your "wait time" might be longer than it would be at other restaurants. My order of a "Chicken Snack" [breast, thigh, leg, and wing] had taken approximately fifteen minutes to reach my table. Because the person working behind the counter had known that I had been waiting for my food in the dining room, he had brought the three smaller pieces of chicken to my table several minutes before the largest piece had been ready to serve. If you have the time to wait for perhaps fifteen minutes for your order to be prepared and then to wait for an additional period of time for your food to be the correct temperature to eat, I strongly recommend that you try out Uncle Nick's Greek Fried Chicken.
