If you have not been here recently, it is under new ownership. Everything is different. There is an entirely new menu, and there is no more Thai food.
The interior has been redone so it looks different.
I opted for a lunch special with curry chicken spicy. All the ingredients were very fresh and the food was very tasty, I really enjoyed my curry chicken.
I took a combo and I chose an egg roll, something I'm usually not super excited about, but, I really enjoyed this one. The thing that really helped was that they have a very good mustard and a very good sweet sauce with it. My wife's favorite Chinese restaurant uses pre-packaged mustard and sweet sauce that are not very good. You won't see that here. They're sauces were absolutely outstanding. I would come back here again just so I could have an egg roll with that crazy spicy mustard.
The drinks are in bottles and cans so they have a mix so I was able to get my favorite, Coca-Cola. One of my friends got a mountain dew and a bottle.
So, if you have not been here in a while, be sure to come back in and check it out.
That I mentioned that the lunch special was very nicely priced.

I’ve ordered here a few times now and I gotta say this is my new favorite Chinese restaurant. You can tell all the ingredients are super FRESH. The chicken dishes I got came with thinly cut chicken that was really tender and delicious. Now when they put the spicy icon next to something, they mean it lol! So proceed with caution if you’re sensitive to spicy things.
As far as appetizers go, I’ve tried the chicken egg roll, crab rangoon, chicken wings, and dumplings. The wings were a really nice size and juicy. I was a fan of the rangoon and dumplings. The egg roll was good, but I found it to be a little greasy.
The customer service is top notch and the interior of the restaurant is nice as well. Overall, this place is excellent and I would recommend giving it a try!

Love the lady who owns Nong’s Hunan Express. She is so kind. The food is very good and portions are generous. Delivery is available if that is what you need. What’s also nice is if you are a student at OSU you can use your Buck-ID to order through GrubHub. This is a good way to spend those extra dining dollars. You won’t be disappointed. I know we will definitely eat here often. There is a small dining area seating approximately 30 people or carry out is available. They also cater and will prepare food for your special occasion, meeting or event. Call for catering prices. Support your local restaurant owner.

First time trying food from here. Pickup order. Inside very nice and clean and the people there are very nice, helpful, and friendly. I ordered Beef Chow Ho Fun, egg rolls, and crab rangoon which were buy one get one free. First time trying Beef Chow Ho Fun so I was shocked by the huge portion I received! This dish was tasty and filling and full of bean sprouts, which I love! The beef was very tender as well. The ONLY reason I gave it four stars was because the crab rangoon wasn’t to my liking. I prefer a sweeter filling and theirs was not. Their sweetness relied on the homemade sauce- which was good but I’d rather have the rangoon that is sweet on it’s own with no sauce needed (my preference).

Food has greatly improved with its new ownersship! Curry is fantastic and the Pad Thai too. So much flavor and just the right amount of heat. Fresh ingredients and generous portions. Looking forward to trying everything else on the menu.

Nice owner. Delicious authentic Chinese food. Feeling the warm welcome from the owner's family.

Hands down the best Pad Thai in Columbus. The prices are very affordable. You can customize your level of spice for each dish. I’ve been coming here for nearly 20 years now and am never disappointed. The owners are wonderful people and feel like family. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Fresh, tasty and quality ingredients. It's been a few years since I've had Nong's and so glad I tried them again. I’m not sure what has changed but all of their food has been amazing! I now order weekly for my Asian fix.

I have visited here several times and have never been disappointed! The Szechuan Chicken and Curry Chicken are the best I've had in a long time! The Egg Rolls are also fresh and delicious. The combination meals are a great deal, and the portions are excellent. Parking can be a challenge with the shared space, so plan ahead.

I had a delicious meal at Nong's Hunan Express. The Wor Su Gai was cooked perfectly and the gravy was a little lighter than many other places. Fried rice and Won Ton Soup, and Egg Roll all delicious!

Enjoyed lunch with a few friends. Good food, good service.

The food and service here are great!! The food was really hot and fresh. I ordered the szechuan tofu with fried rice and it was perfectly spicy and so good! My friend ordered the General Tso’s tofu with white rice and it was the best tofu we have ever tried. We both ordered spring rolls and they were so large and crispy. The food was an excellent value, it was really hearty and the regular was a lot of food for me. The owner and her daughter were really sweet and I am definitely coming here more often!

First time here, won't be the last! Great wonton and sweet and sour soup. Egg rolls and spring rolls, hot and crunchy. Singapore noodles and Szechuan beef. Great flavor on everything and generous portions, two meals easy. Friendly staff and owner greeted everyone. About 15 minutes longer than their initial 15 minute estimate, yet well worth the wait!!!

Nong's Hunan Express - Terrible. Went on 3/16 at 8:48 pm. Upon arrival we were greeted with a severe odor of cleaning solution and instantly decided to get our meal to go in spite of them advertising they were open until 9:30. Horrible mistake. We we got home the meal still smelled like the cleaning solution and the wor su gai was over cooked and tough....inedible comes to mind. We decided to cut our losses threw out the $20+ meal and opted for scrambled eggs and toast at home. Never will make that mistake again, and I hope you don't make the first one.

Always looking for a good place for padthai. This place was pretty expensive (9$), and though I'd called a half hour ahead for carry out, it wasn't ready yet, and despite repeated confirmations on the order both on the phone and at pickup, it was wrong. Decore is a little sad with three large fancy goldfish in a too small tank, one of which was floating upside down. The padthai itself was pretty good, though heavy on noodles and light on meat. Not the best I've found in Columbus, but not the worst. Probably fine if you live close by.

Best Thai in Columbus!. Nong's Hunan Express has a great menu, but their Thai curry dishes are amazing and authentic. Price is very reasonable, and if you pay with cash you get 10% off. Service is friendly, plenty of parking, eating atmosphere is comfortable and homey. I have been to Thailand where I fell in love with their food. Since then I have been on a hut around Columbus to find the closests to the real thing and I found it with Nong's! You have got to try it!

I have been going to Nong's since 1991 and it is SUPER! They do tofu very well here and even tho I am not a vegetarian I often get the tofu dishes bcuz they are so yummy! I would also recommend the Gang Curry ... Very good. Also the value for both lunch and diiner is great!

LOVE IT!!. I think this place is AWESOME. I've been eating here for almost 5 years and never had a bad experience. I feel drawn because I prefer veggie dishes and they have a HUGE vegetarian menu. But they also have many meat dishes. Definitely the best in the area!

Great Thai. Don't think of ordering Chinese food here. The Phad See-Ew is my favorite but all the Thai dishes are excellent.

Good, not great. Great for a quick Thai meal. The Chinese food is just so, so.

One thing I would say is that they should use better quality meats, but you get what you pay for.

Tried and true. Nong's locally owned family run restaurant is the one I always return to. I venture out to other thai places that cost three times as much only to conclude, "Nong's is better." The interior welcoming but sparce and unassuming, but don't be fooled. The food is flavorful and well-prepared. No mushy vegetables slathered in blandness here!
The current owner's aunt started the restaurant about 20 years ago and her nephew now runs the place staying true to her original recipes. I highly recommend the eggplant basil dish. Curries are terrific. Thai Chili soup is a must. Very vegetarian friendly. I've eaten at Nong's around 20 times and have never had a bad experience. Actually, I am headed there now.

Edit: Eggplant dish has gotten a little "saucy" for me lately and I've switched to the Spicy Cashew Nut dish. Yum.

Got carryout there one time. Tasted like it had been under a heat lamp fir two days

Not a fancy place, but they are a great place for great thai food at lunch time!!!

Nong's isn't worth driving across the city to visit, but serves decent Thai quickly, and conveniently, for takeout.

One of the guilty pleasures I've allowed myself to indulge in over the last seven years is the annual Ohio Linuxfest in Columbus, Ohio. While the conference has always been totally free, in recent years, a "sponsor" level was established to allow those wh

Nong's Hunan Express is a Chinese/Thai spot that serves dishes that are much more exciting than its utilitarian setting. There is seating for about 12 inside the restaurant, which shares a plaza with a medical practice. The majority of business seems to be take-out, though there is typically a small but regular crowd eating in the restaurant. The menu has a huge cache of Chinese and Thai vegetarian dishes made with a nice variety of fresh vegetables. Both cuisines are prepared in an authentic manner. The vegatable egg roll, spring roll and fried tofu are meatless starters. The eggroll is stuffed with cabbage, carrots and mushrooms, and green onions, and it had a nice peppery essence. The Thai vegetarian dishes are all made without fish sauce. There are a variety of curries and different noodle entrees. Chinese items include the typical Sichuan, garlic and kung pao tofu preparations, as well as other stir fried vegetable classics. There was a panoply of veggies in the phad pedt tofu.
