Review Erawan Thai - Columbus

Brian Elam
The great reviews don't lie in this place! We initially almost drove away at first because the place looked deserted and in a small, unattractive location. SO glad we stayed! My wife and I ordered the Tom Yum hot pot, level 3 heat (out of possible 4). This was the best version of Tom Yum without coconut milk that we have eaten yet! There was LOTS of food for two, (ordered 2 bowls of rice). The balance of sweet and fish sauce was exquisite! Really unpretentious location and plating, but the food just shines!!!

We had the Tom Yum (seafood) in hotpot. It was delicious. We have had quite a bit of TomYum and this had the best flavor and tasty. We chose “3” on heat and it was hot but not too much. We shared this. We are “big” eaters and was enough for the two of us. If we are in the area again, definitely will eat there again.

Real Crab Ragoon, I would come back here just to buy 6-8 of them for $8 or so. It is worth it. We actually got the sampler and wished we just ordered the crab Ragoon. I am used to the fake stuff so this was so good and reminded me of my fave crab Ragoon from a place in Portland Maine. The shrimp puff was tasty as well along with the peanut sauce on the app sampler. I enjoyed trying the satay and spring roll but the crab Ragoon would have been WAY better. The panang Curry was also delicious as I got it at 3 spicy on a 1-4 level. It was not too spicy at all. My nose started to run a little towards the end but the sweetness of the curry with 3 spice gives it a delectable flavor. I am usually a green curry guy but I would get the panang Curry again. My wife got the Pad Thai at a 2 and hers was definitely spicy. I thought it was pretty good as it was good for pad Thai but not the best ever. Service was quick and the food came out pretty quick as well. Our cbus Thai place had been Banh Thai before they shut down and this place would fill that void if it wasn't so far on the east side.

Erawan Thai is an absolute gem in the heart of Columbus, Ohio! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality. The menu offers a delightful array of Thai dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors and freshness. I highly recommend trying their Pad Thai; it's a true standout with its perfect balance of sweet and savory. The staff's attention to detail and commitment to ensuring a memorable dining experience truly sets Erawan Thai apart. Whether you're a Thai food enthusiast or new to the cuisine, Erawan Thai is a must-visit destination that never disappoints.

DELISH. Authentic Thai food served in a quaint Pacific environment. Super fast service, too - all of our food was out in about 10 minutes, and all of it was EXCELLENT. Real crab in the crab Rangoon, spicy seafood soup was satisfying and rich with flavor, the spicy calamari was crispy and savory, and the tofu was outstanding - garlicky and light. We're already excited to return!

I was waiting to meet a friend and was in my old stomping grounds as a kid. I figured let's try some Thai food. Wow this place was fantastic. The Bangkok spring rolls were fresh, crispy, and delicious. The sweet and sour looked to be house made. Don't quote me on that. The Panang Curry with chicken was outstanding. I only selected 2 out of 4 on the heat level. I plan on graduating up to 3 next time. "Chris likes his curry spicy! ' (Seinfeld). If I had any complaint it would be that the chicken was a bit rubbery. I will go with a different meat next time. Place is still 5 ⭐ for flavor. Recommend.

I just moved here from Cinci and have been looking for a great Thai place to get takeout. I absolutely love this place and the family that runs the restaurant! Their portions are very generous and priced fairly. I will definitely be coming back!

I was greeted immediately and seated afterwards. The decor featured Southeastern Asian art. The service was quick the food was genuinely delicious. I will be back to try other dishes on the menu. It appears there are Laotian style dishes as well. Definitely check it out if you enjoy Southeast Asian food.

The best overall Thai we have found in Columbus. The Spicy Fried Rice is amazing and the curry’s and soups have always been delicious. Prefer the Pad Thai at Bangkok down the road personally, but they’re takeout only. Erawan is the place to go for sit down meals and the small staff is incredibly hard working and polite.

Been here 3 times and the food doesn't disappoint. Enjoyed the pineapple fried rice and shrimp fried rice with fried duck. There's definitely a lot more on their menu, for you to enjoy and be bellyful.

Was craving for some Vietnamese food, so decided to look for a place near by and saw this was only six miles away. When entering the place the theme reminded be back to when I was last in Southeast Asia in 2017. My order was the Vietnamese Pho along with an Iced coffee. The food and service we excellent. If you happen to be on the east side of Columbus, I would highly recommend this place. Food: 5/5 Location: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Yelp: 4/5 Google: 4.5/5 My overall score of the place is a 4.8

Stopped in here to take a client for lunch after some tough negotiations . Pho was really good but pricey. Prices have gone up so make sure you ask your waitress. Getting a new client and a great lunch definitely made for a happy ending. There’s also a massage parlor next-door that offers kind of the same thing.

Authentic Thai food! I've been to Thailand and thus is the real deal! Absolutely delicious. I got the Ocean Pineapple Fried Rice, bring your appetite! My husband got the Singapore noodles which were incredible as well. This is a must visit place if you're in the area.

Great food! My wife and I were happily surprised of how amazing their food tastes! We live around 45 minutes from Columbus, and this is a place we choose to eat when in the city. A must try if in the mood for Thai food! Great prices too.

I dont understand why this place is not packed all the time. My daughter and I found this place on the internet and thought we would try. It is small family owned restaurant. It looks like it was decorated 30 years ago but I dont go to a restaurant for the decor. Decor is nice but its more about the food and service. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, and were the only Caucasian ( aka hillbilly) people in there, but we felt right at home. Service was top shelf. One neat thing they have on their menu is a rating system of 1-4 on how spicy their food is. * Coward ** Careful ***Adventures **** Native Thai. I love spice food so I went straight to 3 stars. My daughter was in the "Coward" spice range. As you can see in the photo Tom Kha soup looked and tasted wonderful. It took a wile to get the soup but it was freshly prepaired and was worth the wait. The small portion could almost be a meal in itself. The broth was to die for, they use galangal root pieces ( kinda like ginger root) in the soup which I am not a big fan of, they give the soup flavor. I simply picked them out. Nice chunks of chicken, mushrooms, scallions and onion. It was wonderful, a large bowl could easily be a meal. Both My daughter and I ordered chicken fried rice, mine spicy. Look at the photos, its as good as it looks. Many times you order rice and it is poorly cooked, not hear somewhat fluffy and just sticky enough. It has the nutty flavor that brown rice should have, When I think of good fried rice this is what I think of. My daughters fried rice also hit the spot. She dident think it was the best she ever had, but it was close to being the best. The food did take a little wile to arrive at out table, but it was well worth the wait. I saw the table across from us ordered Vietnamese Soup it looked so good. I will have to try it on another trip. I will be back!

The food and service were great, but my entrée took forever I eventually asked them to box it to go cause we had finished eating everything else and I got full by the time it was ready. If it wasn’t for the delay totally 5 stars and I totally recommend!

There are many things I’d love to try on Erawan’s menu, but the pho with beef tendon and tripe is so good that I can’t bring myself to stray from it. The beef tendon is well cooked and melts in your mouth. Love this place.

my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. I always get take out. They have massive portions that are enough for multiple meals so it is a great deal! My food is always perfect and I have never had any trouble when I ask to make changes to my meal (I always add extra veggies and switch out rice for noodles!I cannot recommend them enough!!!

I've worked there and let's just say they're entirely cheap and there are multiple health violations in the kitchen. They literally sit in the kitchen with laptop at the countertops where they prep vegetables and food. My first day there, Bob's wife fell in the kitchen and hit her head. Their food may be decent but this restaurant needs to be shut down for health violations.

We loved the food, not sure why we have never been before!! I had the chicken pad Thai and my husband had Pho . We also had the spring rolls. I would have given a 5 star rating but service was a little slow which is hard with little kids.

My favorite Asian restaurant. Food and prices are great. Best Pho in town.

Had carryout from Erawan Thai last night, and it was fantastic. Bangkok, just down the road, is very good, but this is better.
