Growl!

I don't get here very often but I always enjoy the visit. It's never too loud or too crowded. The staff know their beer, and the selection is usually well curated, with a nice mix of breweries and beer styles on tap. Prices are reasonable too. Just a good place to stop and have a drink or fill your growler.

Love this place, but it didn't get 5 stars because the substitute bartender was horrible. Played on his phone instead of serving customers. Phil, the owner, is fantastic and makes this a 5 star experience when he is behind the bar. Place has great beer and you can also have Lavash's food brought over while you keep drinking.

Growl is a great place. It is a small place where there is usually only one bartender (the guy I assume I the owner, Phil). He's very knowledgeable about beers, plus he's friendly and keeps a great selection on draft with fair prices. Plus, you can do 5oz flight pours with no minimum! As an added bonus, you can order excellent Mediterranean food from Lavash, they'll bring it to Growl, and you can eat it at the bar or table!

I wouldn't call this place a bar because it is far from the traditional definition of a bar. It was a great place located in Clintonville. They serve craft and IPA type of beers. It has a very Airy coffee shop like setting w/a rustic decor. I don't even drink beer, I had four glasses of water while I was there, but I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone and would definitely meet friends there for an evening out. It is a great atmosphere and the gentleman tending the beautiful, copper-topped bar was very nice, engaging and Pleasant to just be around.

Great place to grab a drink with a few friends. The interior is small but with some really nice decor. They do not have a kitchen here but they work with LaVash (next door) and you can order food from their menu. The service was great and my beer (which I cannot remember the name of) was something I had never tried before but was great. The bartender let me have a sample before I made the purchase and that was really helpful. Plan on going back soon!
