Let's just say that I am a proud foodie. I have a 400 s.f. kitchen in my house that I use to play with food and create dishes or alter things others have made. I have a pretty good palette overall. 3 years ago, I took my family to New Orleans for vacation, my boys picked it believe it or not. And we proceeded to eat our way through one of the most fantastic culinary locations in the world. That being said, dinner at creole kitchen knocked me for a loop. The master chef, and he is a master, hammered this dinner. From the Shrimp Diane and the unbelievable remoulade to the amazing crawfish etouffee and my wife's choice of the po-boy with catfish, shrimp and crawfish. The seasoning on dishes was 100%. The gumbo we had was so good I felt dumb for only ordering a cup. The crawfish were plentiful and tasty and that catfish was by far the best catfish I have ever eaten in my life and in our family, catfish was an important dish. Then they hammered out the evening with a New Orleans favorite - beignets. Drop the phone. These beignets were as good as the remarkable Cafe DuMonde in New Orleans kid you not. Light, airy, crispy exterior and covered in powdered sugar. Don't call them donuts, my god, this food was great. The restaurant has not been open long and is getting its liquor license. If I had any complaint it's that the coffee was not chicory coffee - another New Orleans favorite. If you don't go to Creole Kitchen for dinner when you are here in town or for a Saturday night date, then you have no good sense about you. This place may easily become one of the top 10 restaurants in the city. It was fantastic.

I'm a cajun girl through and through. My mom's from Mamou, my dad's from Kinder, and I was born in Eunice. I grew up eating gumbo and etoufee and the like. So when I say that Chef Butcher knows what he's doing, I do not say that lightly. The first time I had the gumbo, I nearly cried. It tastes like home to me. My dad would be proud. The roux is perfect- dark like molasses, with amazing flavor. I don't know where they get their sausage, but it's not too far off from the stuff my mom brings me from Rabideaux's in Iowa, LA, with some serious smokey flavor and a nice dry texture. I'd love to know where you get it. Creole Kitchen is also one of the few places that knows how to make etoufee that's spicey enough for me. To the gentleman who looked very concerned that I ordered a "level 5" today, I know I'm just a white girl, but I can very much handle the heat. I enjoyed every bite and was overjoyed that I almost broke into a sweat! The beignets and poboys are amazing as well; to get any better, I'd need to head the New Orleans. I seriously can not say enough good things about Creole Kitchen. The only thing that could make it better is if Chef Butcher added boudin to the menu. ;)

The best catfish ever! This was my second time at Chef Butcher's Creole Kitchen. We went for dinner for the first time and got catfish and chicken jambalaya, both were spicy/hot but the catfish taste soo good. I'm not a big fan of spicy food but I have to say that I couldn't stop eating (and drinking water of course!) ; ) This time we went there for breakfast because I wanted to try french toast. (If you follow my profile, you'll see that I try to go for french toast all the time). It was great! I have to say that the batter was awesome, the bread was cut very thick but still soaked all the batter in, super moist! Crispy bacon also my favorite :D My husband got catfish again, I didn't want to try it at first because I don't like to switch from sweet to savory and back to sweet again, but he kept pushing me to try and I wanted to say that this is the best! I can have it everyday! The breading was super crispy, the fish didn't smell or taste any fishy at all, felt like I was eating chicken but lighter & healthier. And another best part about the restaurant is the meal is very affordable, we spent around $25 (excluding tips) ! We love the food and and Antoinette, she's the best! Her dad too! Will definitely go back there again and again!

We had a craving for some Creole food and came upon this restaurant. We're glad we did! Chef delivered on both the etoufee and jambalaya. I really loved the cabbage side dish. Spice level goes from 1-5 and even though we like a bit of a kick, level 1 was enough. We were really full, but we had to try the biegnets! Glad we did! They said they plan to move near the Lincoln Theatre in the coming months. That'll be a great spot for them. We'll be back! Service and food both really good. 😋

I went to this place because a friend suggested to me. I ordered some gumbo, a perch meal, chicken audouille Jambalaya and some beignets. Man was I blown away with everything! The jambalaya was so damn spicy on a good side and the rest was history. I will be going back for more this week.

Delicious breakfast was served with a side of customer service today. I was on my way to the airport and walked in five minutes after they shut down service between breakfast and lunch. The chef shouted “I got it!” and made a fabulous seafood omelet and grits. Thanks Creole Kitchen!

Good food. Unique atmosphere. Great live music on Fat Tuesday. Be careful though, because I was threatened by a local in the parking lot on my way to my car… 😐

Stopped in The Mt Vernon Plaza and found this gem. Got take out. Had Creole garlic chicken wings, mac n cheese, grilled cabbage, and for dessert sweet potato cheesecake! The food was heavenly! Make the trip to the plaza and get some of the Creole Kitchen's delicious authentic Creole food.

Not sure maybe Mardi Gras function. Service slightly slow...my dish was ok, just wish I had ordered fried chicken or the fish that looked really tasty. Cash bar? No credit card... either cash or Zelle...so no drink for me. Was busy...had a little live music w/Roger Parish. Great atmosphere...

Moved away from Columbus but when in town this is where we get our food! Tasty food with traditional flavors from New Orleans. Beignet are these we have ever had!
