Review Buca Di Beppo Italian Restaurant - Columbus

Fantastic food and service was just as great!! I came in for lunch and yes, that was huge!! I ended up taking food back. Flavorful spice in the chicken and the sauce was perfectly balanced. If you can, ask for Brian as a server, he was awesome for my first time dinning here!! Sits directly across from the Columbus Blue Jackets Arena. Awesome fan base to experience if you get there and a game is going on like I did. 5 Stars.

If it weren’t for a server named Anthony, I would be giving a 1 star. The restaurant was very busy and overbooked. It was a Blue Jackets game night. So once we arrived for our 5:30 reservation they told us we wouldn’t get seated until after 6 because the servers are all overwhelmed and can’t handle more tables. Once we finally got seated, which was around 5:50, no one came to our table for over 20 minutes for even a drink order. So we decided to leave because we actually had a show to get to by 7:30 and didn’t have confidence we would get our meal in time. As we were walking out a server from another section stopped us, literally outside and asked us if he could get us seated and order complete if we would stay. He was so nice and we decided to stay. He took our order as we were walking back to our table and it was out within 6 minutes. He gave us a huge dessert for our wait and thank us over and over for staying! He went out of his way to make our night great!! He really turned it around and made it special. Anthony is fantastic and they are truly lucky to have him! A table of 12 next to us walked out as well because the server was no where to be found!

This place is pretty good!! The food comes in great quantities which are fair for the price, and we got our food very fast. The service was nice, and the atmosphere was good, and the decorations were very interesting. Great place if you’re craving pasta!!

Food authentic, and very large proportions, so much food 1st time in yrs that I brought home food from a restaurant! Definitely worth the 💰, the waiter was genuinely nice presentable and knowledgeable. When paying with card everything is one one check at a table and cost is split @the register. Hostess was very friendly, picture and video doesn't do the place justice, it's a must go to on the list when in Columbus, Alot of history @this restaurant.

My first time going and I loved it. You get large portions of food. It's worth the cost.

It was our 4 week dating anniversary and we decided to go to Buca after a long day at the Franklin Botanical Gardens. We were so impressed with the food and the service that I had to write a review. Genuine service means a lot to me and the GM at this location was exactly that. It was our first time at Buca but it will not be our last. Rick was our server and he took his time with us ordering and kept a my boyfriends root beer going. Thanks for the chocolate cake! See pics below!

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner and we had a great time. Prices are a little high but the food was great and they had great customer service.

My sister and I stopped in for some good Italian, and we were not disappointed! The range of options were incredible, and the pasta was in incredible! The atmosphere was lovely and felt very family-like, and we really enjoyed our time. Our server, Teresa, did a wonderful job of getting everything to us quickly and efficiently, and was so kind to us both! Many thanks to her for helping my sister and I have a great experience 🤍

The food was amazing, the staff was terrific and the drinks were awesome. Totally enjoyed my first time at the restaurant and I will be back. Love how the portions go.

Absolutely love this place. Have only been there twice now. But we drive 2 hours to get there so it's not local. Olivia was our server, she was great.

Love it here... so great that it is so close to the arena for hockey games. Made a reservation and we got sat in a decent amount of time. Love the meatballs ( they are huge.... ) also had the fettuccine and it was pretty good. I actually prefer the red sauce though at this establishment. The cheesy garlic bread isn't very garlicky, but still good. Had the fried mozzarella they were awesome. A little higher priced and family style meals... warning you get alot of food... enjoy ya all...

Our food was wonderful. Portion sizes are very large enough to share. Prices are reasonable. Our son is at OSU and we give him tons of leftovers when we go here together.

The best place to eat in downtown Columbus wonderful service wonderful meal. I would like to also say this to those people that were disappointed in waiting for their meal. I think you need to understand what “old world dining”is. In the old world dining is about is the event, relaxing enjoying everyone, having another drink, and after dinner, after dinner drink. A matter fact last night would’ve been fast food to an actual old world diner. I guess maybe they were never out of Columbus

Food and atmosphere was amazing. We were greeted with big smiles at the door and we had a great time. We seen the chef walk by and we stopped him to tell us the the food was amazing. Thanks chef cam and the team at buca for the wonderful experience!

We were the 1st ones in and they were amazing right off the bat. It was our first time coming and the food was amazing and enough for 1 meal to feed 2 and still take some home leftovers. Coco, the general manager, was so kind and very informative on every question we had on catering and event possibilities. Our server Shay was THE gal to ask for! She was very attenative, well educated on the food and such a sweet soul. We will be back and we look forward to seeing them both again ^_^ Thanks girls for making our time a great one

I've never had a bad meal or bad service at this place but today definitely changed all that. They had no meatballs so we waited for them and when we got them they were burnt. The chicken marsala was way too sweet it tasted like chicken teriyaki. The waiter was scatterbrained and all over the place. Very unhappy this time around.

Tasteless spaghetti marinara This is the second time and last time that I will be disappointed. The balsamic vinegar was very bitter and unpalatable. Salad did not have enough dressing which made it bland at best. Bread was good as was the Parmesan cheese. Servers were pretty good as we had quite a large reunion get together. I am Italian and the food was not even close to good Italian food. The chocolate cake was the hit of the meal. For $36.00 each the food was horrid. Two strikes and you are out. Spaghetti Warehouse is much better. Did I mention parking? It is a good thing that I am disabled and have a placard. All in all the highlight of the evening was the cake and the company. Do not waste your time and money.

I am so sorry to have to say this, but the food was barely warm! We ordered chicken parm, salad and baked ziti. The salad was very good....it was old and fresh!! We also ordered garluc bread with mozzarella cheese on it. Not only was cold, the cheese was not melted pn it at all!! Quite frankly, it tasted horrible; no one likes cold mozzarella cheese. The baked ziti was all lumped together and stuck. It looked like it must have sat for awhile because there was no steam coming out of it! Needless to say, it wasnt very appealing!. The chicken parm did have flavor....too bad it was barley warm. I think if it had been hot, I would have given it a five star rating. The waitress never came back to see if I wanted more coffee. She just didnt care about her job....that was evident! Sorry for the poor review, however, you cant fix what you dont know.

We were there for the 2nd time at the opening of the blue jackets. My husband and I ordered the veal parmesan. Pieces of it I spit out because I couldn't even chew it. It was hard dry and full of gristle. Was by far the worst veal dish I have ever had. My son and his girl had the chicken and noodle dish which he said was just ok. They were extremely slow but our waiter kept apologizing. After an hour we finally got the garlic bread which was again overcooked and hard... In my estimation barely edible. My son wanted the canolis but we didn't have time to order them due to the fact we'd been there one and a half hours already and had 20 minutes to get into the game. We have season tickets to the Jackets and after this experience we probably won't be back. Sorry to say not a fan of the food here. Jackets won 5 to zero so that part of the night was great.

Our group of 6 had a great server and a great meal! Always a wonderful place to eat. We love Buca!

We reservations for 10 that included two high chairs. When we arrived the girl told me it was only for 8 but they could just squeeze two high chairs in the end. Our reservations were for 3pm on 1/28/18. We has tickets for a 5pm event at Nationwide so logically we had plenty of time. We got to our table and got everyone seated, took the waitress about 10 minutes before she ever came. Took part of our drink orders but not the whole table. 15 minutes late she returned with lots of waters, no kids drinks or pop. Then she left the drinks she did bring and said she was going to get the others. She goes to another table then she is gone for 10 more minutes. She returns and drops the drinks and says she will come back. I quickly asked her if we could order as we were on a schedule and needed to be out by 430. At this point it was 335, We ordered a large mixed green salad, a large pizza, spaghetti and meatballs and Penne El Forno along with kids mac and cheese and a kids pizza. Our waitress then leaves and comes back with some bread which was nice. Finally at 415 they bring us a Cesar Salad, our pizza and the two kids meals. When we asked about the pasta dish our waitress said she took it upon her self to put the order in two sections. So the five adults and two children that were sharing the pasta dishes still had to wait. At 440 I requested the last two dishes, to go containers, and a bill. A lady I'm assuming was the manager kept coming by saying she was going to take care of the problem. Then took our check to compensate us but once we got the receipt after the card was ran nothing was taken off. We were given the excuse that it was a busy time (which we arrived before the rush, tables that were seated after us with as many customers got food before us) and we have to understand how the food industry works. It was very disappointing to go to a two hour event with limited food because our waitress made the choice of how our food order went in and didn't ask if that was okay.

This was wonderful food. Very tasty. The BEST veal Marsala I have ever had. Paired well with the fettuccine Alfredo. Their red sangria is tasty AF. Thank you for the great cuisine.

Me, my mom and cousin went here because it smelled so good from the outside and we love Italian food. My mom got spaghetti and meatballs, my cousin and I got chicken fettuccini alfredo...hers with spinach, broccoli, roasted red pepper. The alfredo sauce has no flavor, the chicken tasted like plain baked chicken, there was barely any sauce on my mom's spaghetti and the meatballs taste like cooked hamburger with no flavor. Will never god back. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because there's complimentary bread with olive oil and vinegarette dip and it was yummy.

Very nice hostess shay and down to earth waiter Danny. I really appreciated all the help for valentines day. Also a waiter I never got her name. She was very resourceful with my stress levels. My date was late lol. Thank you all for your help and encouragement.

The food was good, the service sucked. Yes there was a Blue jackets game. It was busy as hell, but our waiter was so overwhelmed he kept passing us up saying he would be right back. That happened for about 10 minutes until he handed us off to another waiter. Will never go back during a game or event near the restaurant.

We had a party of 15 for an Avon Event and they put us in the Pope room with a giant lazy susan on the round table. We had a blast making memories with friends from across the US. Service was excellent.

Average at best. Some of the food they brought out was barely warm. Way overpriced. Would much rather eat at Mama DeSalvos...waiters were just interested in getting us out of there. They overcharged our friends who made the reservations. Would not be interested in going back there again....

Poor service the server was cut and ready to go home. Asked us 4 times if we were ready to order our food. Felt that we were rushed during our whole experience.

Great food, awesome service, and wonderful atmosphere. My family hits Buca almost every time we are in Columbus. Last night was one of the best dinners ever!

We were there for a birthday celebration and more people showed up then expected and the management acted as if it was a great inconvenience. We overheard comments from the servers like “where did these people come from?” We even heard one say “omg, they need to go back where they came from”. At that point it was pretty obvious that our presence was not wanted. So a lot of us left. I will never frequent this establishment again. Very rude, disrespectful and unprofessional.

Had a family dinner for my grand daughter (Emmah) 5th birthday. Loved the atmosphere, waitress rocked, and food was good. Brussel sprouts superb!
