Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries - Columbia - Photo album

I was heading home from OBX, and wanted a quick meal that wasn't the same old ordinary...found Hwy 55 on Google maps, and figured I'd give it a try. This place looks so innocuous and rather bland from outside, but the inside is an explosion of 50s era diner nostalgia! I missed the decade by about 25
Food was delicious! The price could not be beat… especially after coming from the coast. Very friendly service. Don’t judge this book by its cover.
So good!!! Wonderful service Steak sandwich was excellent , oh & the Malt ice cream too
We went there again tonight (12/6) and got awesome food, bacon cheeseburger, fries and one of the best chocolate shakes in this part of NC. However our last visit couple months ago was disappointing, I think it mainly depends on who is working. Today was delicious and exactly what you would expect f
Shrimp poboy was huge and full of shrimp. Great taste and fair price for the amount of food. Servers were friendly. Wife said the 6 piece was more than enough to split and taste good. Clean enough for our liking. Water taste strange.
The service was great, and seeing how this was my first visit to a Highway 55 restaurant, I really liked all the 1950's decorations inside!
Stopped here on a whim and glad we did. They were out of so many things it was almost comical but what they did have was very good especially the chicken cheese steak, the best my husband said he had ever had!! The pimento cheese and orange aid was very good and although the hot dog looked dehydrate
Located right next to the speedway The food was sooooo delicious! I LOVE the fact they have a John Boy and Billy burger! I use to eat the John Boy and Billy sauce on everything as a kid! Shrimp PoBoy was amazing also! There was a wait for our food but it came out HOT !!
The burgers were good. We showed it up with 27 in our party, and they served us in good time. While we were there, four other tables were also served. All of the staff were pleasant and did their best to satisfy all their guests.
Great hamburgers, fries and sweet tea! One of the last places to eat for a while, if you are leaving The Outer Banks. The service was good and timely. It wasn’t very busy when we stopped by.
Is this place still open Went by on June 18th and June 25 around 2pm and was closed both times. Used to look forward to this stop on the way to OBX
I've been impressed by Hwy 55. Every location I've been to, the burgers are served hot. It's so nice to get a meal where the meat is still hot off the grill. The service here was fantastic. They went above and beyond and really worked to make our visit a positive one. Fantastic job!
We enjoyed our meal and the milk shake was possibly the best I have ever had. The shake was small but very good. The burgers and cheese steaks were good. Overall we had a good time and would happily go back but this place has a lot of potential to be a great restaurant.
Not much to speak about from the outside, but the food is fabulous. The Philadelphia steak sandwich is one of the best I have ate. The bread is baked locally, fresh and very tasty. The wife enjoyed the shrimp salad. Will definitely come back if in the area!
