Cool, nastalga vibe diner. They have a nice outdoor seating area with strung lights and they're known for their burgers and milkshakes. When you order a sandwich, it comes pretty bare then you take your plate to a long toppings bar and add what you want. It's kind of fun.
Got the Groupon for $25 credit because I had never been and was curious about the New Diner in town.
Everyone her is very friendly. Alisha our waitress was super sweet and patient while my slow ass tried to decide what I wanted. We got a Butterscotch Beer. Super yummy.
I got the Spam Sandwhich. I also suggest the sweet potatoe fries. You can load up your sandwhich with any topping off of their topping bar. And you can get any amd all sauces to dip your delicious sweet potato fries in.
Overall very happy experience!
I have a soft spot for a classic burger joint, but I would recommend giving this location a few months to settle in with staffing and cooking. (I.e. the staff is still figuring out where the soda bottles are...)
Simple hamburger came out with soggy, stale chips (no fries?) and a meh (at best) patty that seemed to have the life and soul (and juice) smashed out of it. The topping bar is excellent, with LOTS of selection.
Vanilla Malt was AMAZING! Came out quickly and perfectly.
P.S. May want to invest in thicker napkins. The family went through an unholy amount.
Great service! Love the atmosphere! Had the Vienna hotdog - very good! Cheddar burger was good, a bit overdone and not a fan of the crusty roll for a bun but the amount of toppings available at the bar is great. Without a doubt the BEST cheese curds we've ever had - and we're from Wisconsin!
Our favorite was the burger toppings bar which had some great options. Cheese curds were delicious and I highly recommend them. While the food was good, the service was great! It was our waitress's third day and she went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. Thank you.
The soda wall was cool even though it was a little bare. My server I believe he was the owner. He was wonderful and my service was great. The topping bar was decent and my cheesesteak was good. Classic American food that taste exactly like you expect it to. I'll go back and would recommend this restaurant.
Nice burger joint! Went there with about 15 people and they did a really good job of keeping our orders straight and taking care of us. Burger was really good. They have a big bar where you add your own toppings. Very fresh. Thanks!
A 50s 60s Era burger style joint that the only other store is based out of Wisconsin. Has old style soda drinks and a lot of bottle flavored sodas too from different areas of the United States to order with your meal. Just open recently and hopefully they will be successful here in Colorado Springs. I personally think we need a place like that here. Excellent customer service. Being honest, the 4 stars is because I have been there twice and there has been certain food and drinks on the menu that they were out of. That should get better as people come eat in and figure out what's hot or not in this area.
!!UPDATE!! JP FIZZYS IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED!! Walked up Sunday evening to enjoy a hot dog and a beer. The owner was at the side door loading goods into his vehicle
He informed us that he was done. 😂 Been here a few times. The food, decor and atmosphere is 50's diner. They have a vast selection of soda. The food is served "naked", you put on your own toppings at the sprawling toppings bar. Wait staff is good, bathrooms are clean. The best part of this place is, of course, full bar service. I also love that they carry my favorite beer Voodoo Ranger IPA from New Belgium.
Cool old time burger diner. Fun ambience straight from the 50s. Great shakes (adult beverage shakes, too!), and yummy cheese curds. Other food is sometimes hit or miss. Service is consistently questionable. If that gets fixed, I'd give it five stars.
