The staff is very friendly and attentive. The place is spotless. Okay now for the food... whatever they season their chicken with is so good. The chicken is made to order, so there is a little bit of a wait (but it’s so worth it). They were out of greens. But the fried okra (not easy to cook), Mac and cheese, grits, and yams were delicious. If you are looking for some southern comfort food, this is your place!!
Chicken n waffles in the springs! Ordered quite a bit of food in our party and it all came out in under 10 mins and fresh and hot. Chicken was very moist and seasoned perfectly, mac n cheese was super creamy, potatoes came hot with peppers and onions, and the waffles came with a side of butter and syrup. Staff very friendly and attentive. Overall great experience, will be back!

Everything I got was crazy good. Seasoned perfectly. Drop everything you're doing and run to Al's and get some of this good food. This was my first visit and I will definitely be back.
Great food! The chicken schnitzel was excellent. Sides were delicious--try the fried okra and mac and cheese. The sweet waffle and syrup provided a yummy counterpoint to the saltier chicken and sides. The staff were super friendly. The owner comes across as a nice, funny guy who cares about his customers. I'll be back.
100% absolutely amazing!! If you want some great from the heart food to feed your tummy and soul then you need to be at Al’s Chicken and Waffles!! The environment was amazing, staff was very welcoming. It felt like I was getting a good home cooked meal from a family/friend dinner event!! Mac n Cheese was A+, Greens were A+, the food is just absolutely divine!! I am so glad the owners opened up here in the springs because really where can you go and order some food like you can here, exactly no where!! You definitely leave feeling great wanna dance sing the food is just that good!! The layout is very nice and clean and TVs for the sports seasons is perfect and just to have a little something to watch while you eat and have a good time!! Music selection made the food mood good as well, and I loved one particular sign they had hanging up that said “Happiness is home made” boy now ain’t that the truth I for sure was eating happy and left happy!! 5 star place for certain!!
One of the best eats in Colorado Springs overall. Great selection of soul food, amazing taste, and nice employees. Sold out of the mac an hour before closing but hey, it was the opening week which is understandable. Only note (not even a complaint really). Seating in back area where tables were, was kind of cramped. It was a little hard for both our party as well as the party on either side to get out of our seats. Overall great place, great food, great vibes. Definitely stop by and grab a plate. Bring the crew. They have something for everyone.
I absolutely love this place. My husband brought home chicken and waffles. I'm really not the type who enjoys meat to much. But I took a bit and my taste buds exploded. The seasoning on the chicken is spot on. Best chicken I have EVER EVER had!!! The waffles were also very good. I have lived in Colorado all my life and never have I had better food anywhere then I had today's at AL'S CHICKEN AND WAFFLES. if you haven't been, you need to go.... Like right now!!!
This was our First time eating here today and it was really good. I’m not exaggerating when I say every single thing we ordered was tasty! We had wings, Mac and cheese, greens, red beans & rice and a waffle and it all had flavor and was seasoned just right, nothing bland! Also, the establishment was CLEAN, that’s says a lot. The ONLY down side was The prices were a little steep for the portion sizes, but we still payed it and were satisfied.
Where to start? The hospitality is awesome, the Mac and cheese was AMAZING, the greens, fried okra and yams we're fantastic, the chicken was crispy, juicy and flavored perfectly the waffles were fresh. We ate here on a Sunday after church, it was busy and we had to wait a bit but it was well worth the wait! This will definitely be our Sunday thing to do. Can't wait to bring family and friends here!
