Review Olde World Bagel & Deli - Colorado Springs

Man, these bagel sandwiches are too good! When I’m in town my partner and I get at least 2 sandwiches a week for breakfast/lunch. They’re all made fresh, and the ingredients they use are legit. I always use their online ordering, you can customize it to your hearts content. I’m ALWAYS impressed that my very custom sandwiches come out exactly as requested, every time so far. Very happy, returning customers here! The staff is always nice and very friendly. Keep up the great work!

delicious bagel sandwiches, best in town 🥯 perfect when you’re craving a fresh lunch, i ordered the California on poppy seed and it was sooo good i finished this entire thing! I also love love love their classic breakfast sandwich. 🥓 Perfect for a lunch time meal. In a shopping center so a lot of parking, they close earlier in the day and open early.

Yes! Inflation and cost of living increases are certainly real. I was recently in California. A gallon of gas averaged $6.00. Tacqueria and food truck burritos are now about $12.00. The price of eggs and milk and other staples have been well documented. Especially over the last two years. We get it. Everything is expensive. Even still, it can be shocking. I came through the beautiful city of Colorado Springs for work and happened by Olde World Bagel. I pass through many cities throughout the country for work. And I must say, Colorado Springs is a beautiful town. Clean air. Stunning scenery and views. Very nice people. I did not spend much time in the town, but that was my initial impression. The price for my bagel with lox was equally as stunning as the surrounding white capped mountain vistas. Though, to be fair, I did not pay attention to the price when I ordered. I knew what I wanted before seeing it on the menu. It has been ages since I had lox. Figured I would give it a try. Looked liked a great bakery to try it. I am not too fussy about what a place looks like. Often, looks can be deceiving. Olde World Bagel is clean and bright inside. Feels like a mix of cafe, bakery, and breakfast or brunch spot. Definitely a modern coffee shop. Several employees were busy behind the counter. I did not wait at all to place my order and my bagel came within minutes, as I had arrived well after noon and the usual lunchtime rush. The everything bagel with lox was both fresh and delicious. Though was quite shocked by the price. I was not in New York, or Boston, or D.C. Or Los Angeles or San Francisco. There are cities that are well known for their high prices. It sort of goes along with the experience to some extent. Operating costs are high. I understand that fresh and kosher quality salmon can be very expensive. I used to live in Brooklyn. $15 for a bagel is expensive. Anywhere. Again, the bagel was delicious. No problem or qualms with taste. Next time I pass by I will definitely pass on the lox or any other pricey concoction and try a standard bagel with cream cheese or another kind of cheese or spread that is more reasonably priced. And allows me to afford dessert. Thanks.

A widely diverse menu is complemented by a friendly and engaging staff. There's about 11 cream cheese flavors alone! I'll go ahead and recommend the spinach parmesan bagel with egg and provolone cheese with a chai. Excellent service meets great taste for a very reasonable price. It's veteran owned and operated, so if you care about that sort of thing, all the more reason to drop by.

They don’t skimp on the cream cheese. Bagels were decent with a crisp outer shell and soft inside. The breakfast sandwich was okay. Needed some extra flavor. The veggie cream cheese was the same. Missing some flavor. We came on a busy morning and the employees seemed to be unsure of what to do- thus it took about 15 to get our order 4 bagels (3 with cream cheese)

Great fast lunch. Fresh bagels, friendly staff, and veteran friendly. Good place to get chow. Two sandwiches with drinks and chips ran 29.$ a good deal for lunch.

We went to this bagel shop on vacation. It was very nice and fresh and I liked the variety. We went back a second time while we were in town! 🥯

What a great little breakfast spot! If you love bagels, great coffee, and a friendly staff, stop by here! They have such a great selection of fresh made bagels in every flavor you know, and even some you didn't know! The cream cheese options are good too! I recommend making your bagel a breakfast sandwhich! They open early and I highly recommend getting there earlier because they get pretty busy around 8am to 9am, especially on the weekends! I'm happy we found this spot and it will definitely be a go to for breakfast anytime we're in the area!

THE BEST BAGEL PLACE IN THE SPRINGS! An article came out recently from Colorado Springs Magazine claiming to know the best bagel in Colorado Springs and I felt the need to set the record straight. No other bagel shop comes close to Olde World. They have a huge variety of daily flavors of both bagels and cream cheese but this is the one and only place I would ever recommend a plain bagel with cream cheese. The texture/density and flavor are truly unmatched and are easy to overlook when the bagel is covered in other delicious flavors. They also have pastries, sandwiches, and drinks that are definitely worth a try. This is a “no frills” kinda place that sticks to what they are great at, so if it’s on the menu you can’t go wrong.

Nice Bagel place with some top notch NY style bagels. My sandwich was a bit on the watery side, but the chocolate chip bagels were fantastic!

You can order online for in person pick-up, which is great for early morning on the go breakfast, trying to get to work. They have a great inviting atmosphere to enjoy breakfast brunch or lunch. They have discounted bagels on sale next to the register. It's my favorite bagel place in Colorado Springs.

Best Poppy Seed Bagel I have ever had. Such a wide variety to choose from as well.

Filthy bathroom with no paper towels ever. Under cooked bagels, loaded with salt, tough fatty pastrami, luke warm food . Rude service. Such a disappointment.

Love the bagels and cream cheese, I pick up a half dozen to go nearly every week! Good, crunchy and flavorful bagels. Not a fan of the egg sandwich they do though. If they got a skillet and fried up some fresh eggs to go on their sandwiches instead of plopping a microwaved scrambled egg thing on there they would be so much tastier.

Won't go back.. I was looking forward to a canzone which was on their website. The counter attendant said they don't have those. 3 bagel sandwiches for $25 is outrageous.

Went here only because I had a restaurant.com coupon and it was AMAZING!!!! My mother and law and I split the chicken ceased sandwich as well as the sandwich with bbq and they both were to die for! We will definitely be back for more soon!

Some of the worst customer service I have ever had!! The older guy that works there watched me walk in an just glared at me, did not ask me a thing! The bagels are great, staff if absolutely the worst!

My experience is not like the rest.. I've heard a lot of good things about Olde World from people I work with. I even concur that they have a very high rating on Urbanspoon. So with all of the hype, why did I not enjoy my lunch there a few weeks ago?<br/><br/>Well for starters, it all has to do with the girl working the front counter. I don't know her name, but I did post a picture of her, feet up on the table in the dining room, texting away on her phone in between customers. Upon me walking in, she did eventually go up to the counter to take my order. I used that phrase because I was not really greeted and I was not offered any suggestions or daily specials, I was just asked "what do you want?" Excusing her rudeness, I kindly asked her what sandwiches she had to choose from because I was not seeing a menu right away. So she handed me a menu anyway. Nothing about how their bagels were made in house was mentioned. Nothing about substitutions, specials or what the other sides were. Nothing. Literally it was like pulling teeth. So I figured from that point on, I'd let the food do their talking and ordered a rueben bagel (apparently the bagel was of the rye variety). I got potato salad with it. And, fearing that it would not be enough to fill me up, I also got a peanut butter cookie. The sandwich came out and much to my surprise for a place that makes their own bagels (and therefore, can determine the size of them), the bagel was the average size of one that you can get at a grocery store. What's the point? I suppose for an average person, a bagel sandwich that size is "enough" but I'm not average sized, and I wanted more. Now look at the size of the helping of potato salad that they gave me and try to envision how big that side actually is compared to a regular sized bagel. Pretty paltry, right?<br/><br/>The peanut butter cookie was fine, and that helped create the "full" feeling I was after. One plus size was that the owner came up to me shortly before I left and offered to give me a free "power bagel" just because. I thanked him for this offer and took it (it looked like a small loaf of bread with lots of nuts and berries in it). I ended up giving it to a coworker of mine who promptly took one bite and threw it back at me asking what it was. When I told her, she said it was "nasty" and was mad at me for getting that for her. I laughed, but then I took a bite. I figure that these are actually pretty healthy for you, if you're a hippy, but I'm not and therefore deemed it too dry and lacking in flavor.<br/><br/>Overall, I would come back if this place would increase the size of their sandwiches (or at least offer a "jumbo bagel" option instead) and got rid of that terrible employee who took my order.

I was looking for a place that had good quiche and I saw that Olde World Bagel had good reviews so I thought I'd try it. <br/>I came in around 11am on Wednesday morning. There were a couple people eating but no one waiting. Three employees behind the counter. I was looking at the menu and an employee stood there, just staring. No greeting. I told him I was unsure what I wanted and he just rolled his eyes and waited. I placed my order, a piece of quiche, side salad and a coke. More than $10!! And really not very good. The lady who rang me up was rude and then they all stood and watched as I tried to carry a carseat, diaper bag, cup of Coke and the tray. No one offered to help even though no one was busy.<br/>Terrible service, mediocre food, not worth a return trip.

July 05, 2012. I recently bought lunch from Olde World Bagel and Deli. I requested a Smokey Joe samwich and was handed a to-go bag 2 minutes after ordering. I stared at the bag wondering why the samwich wasn't made fresh. They told me that the samwich was made today and someone that previously ordered the samwich forgot their wallet. Regretfully I did purchase this unfresh samwich instead of reasonable complaint to make a new samwich that fit what I had ordered rather than the Californian samwich that they provided. <br/><br/>This is the second time I have received such bad service from a place that is supposed to have fresh food. My second instance was arguing about a drink order with the barista/employee of this deli. . She argued with me that I had ordered a chai latte meaining that I had ordered coffee, not chai. Finally another employee after watching the two of us came in to make a new chai latte. <br/><br/>The food may be good, but I am not coming back with such bad customer service.

Olde World Bagel & Deli. My partner and I ate both a breakfast and a lunch here while visiting relatives. Yes, Olde World is that good.<br/><br/>For breakfast, choose your bagel plain, or add your options such as meat, cheeses, and spreads. Order the espresso.<br/><br/>For lunch, they have a good selection of sandwiches, soups, salads, and wonderful "specials."<br/><br/>We enjoyed the Club and Californian cold sandwiches, and there are hot sandwiches, too. We sampled some of the broccoli cheese soup and a bagel dog. Both were good. If our stay would have been longer, we would have eaten here again.

Outstanding. This place is awesome. Best bagels out there!
