Nestled at the base of Seven Falls, 1858 provided a much welcomed reprieve from the 244 stairs summit descent. Although we were 40 mins early for our reservation, we were promptly seated. Our fantastic waiter, Sean, patiently helped us sort through the bevy of house cocktails and menu options. We decided to go with the brussel sprouts appetizer. My wife ordered the quinoa bowl and I went with the bison burger. The quinoa bowl was very light yet flavorful while the bison burger was insanely juicy (most bison that I've had wasn't). Note, the restaurant is part of the Broadmoor resort so a 20% service fee was automatically added to the bill.
Tracy was our server, she was so kind and attentive. I loved the cozy decor and the food was fantastic! Tomato tortilla soup is a must!
This was a very tasty experience and perfectly timed for the end of our arduous hike up and down the falls and the views at the top. Definitely a higher class restaurant so we felt a little weird going in with our hiking clothes, but once we took our first bites of the food we couldn’t think of anything else. My burger was cooked to perfection, exactly how I ordered it. The rest of my party also enjoyed theirs!
Excellent service and high quality food. I had the Bison Burger, my wife had the Trout, daughters had pasta. Our server was really friendly.
Great place for some very well thought out Colorado fair. Red trout, Palisade peach chutney and green chili. Nice to relax there after climbing the stairs.
Went here on a whim. You have to park pretty far away and take a shuttle. There weren't clear instructions on what to do, so getting there was a bit confusing especially the second shuttle you take from the gate up to the restaurant. The service inside was terrific. Our wait was very accommodating to our daughters food allergies. Her chicken was spot on. I had the bison burger and it was burnt to a crisp. If it had been medium it would have been amazing.
Great food, call ahead to get a reservation or do what we did and sit at the bar.
Great atmosphere. Extremely tasty food. The steak was special. Drinks were good, but could come out faster. Miner detail because the wait staff was excellent. Don’t care for the logistics portion of getting to the restaurant, but Uber/Lift works and the 10-15 min walk is a good calorie burner prior to a good meal. The Broadmor should waive the fee for guests eating dinner. $18 additional fee just to get in the gate seems a bit over the top. We didn’t even get to use all the facilities normally offered with the park entry fee. Work that out please Broadmor.
Friendly service! Great food! Perfect atmosphere.
If I could give more stars I would! Food was amazing, staff was amazing and I do want to add that I know Broadmoor employees are held to somewhat higher standards than other establiments but this staff...! You can tell they.....Love what they do and are passionate about making 1858 an experience one won't forget!
While every staff member was exceptional, I apologize but don't remember all their names but special shout outs to Karla, Alex, Gabe and Dillon!! You are definitely 5 star!
Anyone that complains about 1858, should just stick to Burger King!
