What a wonderful experience! I went back for a second visit today. 1st visit I had the cheeseburger. 2nd visit I ordered the French Dip. Whenever you can, get the shoestring fries! Everything was great in flavor and presentation, but the shoestring fries were seriously some of the best I've ever had!
Peter was my waiter and his suggestions and recommendations were 100% on-point!
I have had lunch and dinner several times at La Taverne, I have to say dinner is my preferred time to visit.
The steaks are just so tasty and fresh, their seafood tower is amazing and their prime rib is mouth watering!
The service, as 95% of the service at Broadmoor, is great! Everyone is so welcoming, they all have a smile on their face.

What a spectacular experience we had at La Taverne tonight. This is the top restaurant within the Broadmoor and for good reason. The first thing we noticed walking through to our seats is how beautiful the space is. It only got better from there as the food was amazing! Having dined in a lot of the best restaurants in Denver, Aspen, Vail, Beaver Creek, and Telluride, I can say that LA Taverne is my favorite dining establishment in the state of Colorado. I had what was quite possibly the best chicken dish of my life. Without a doubt, we highly recommend dining here if you're in the area.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here back in March 2022. I had the wahoo and he had the salmon. It was the best food we have ever eaten and we reminisce about it all the time!! Our waiter was very nice and we were given free dessert for our anniversary. It was such a great experience and we can’t wait to come back again! ☺️
We visited La Taverne to celebrate birthdays. We were greeted with smiles and happy birthday wishes. Our dinner was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable. Dessert was on the house for our birthday! I highly recommend you visit La Taverne. Try the Slow Cooked Duck Confit.

Absolutely breathtaking if you sit on the covered patio (sort of like a sun room? I'm not sure what you'd actually call it, but it was beautiful and the ceiling decor was gorgeous).
The food was delicious. While the kids spaghetti seemed a little bland, it did come off of the kids menu, which I find to lack a lot of flavor in order to appeal to a wide variety of children. I ordered the tenderloin along with mashed potatoes and green beans. The green beans were extremely crunchy, much to the disdain of my daughter, who prefers a softer cook on her green beans. I thought they were delicious, but they could have used another minute or two on the heat to soften them up a tad more.
The steak was spectacular. I can only imagine how good a more expensive cut would have tasted. The mashed potatoes were delicious as well. This was one of the pricier meals we had at the Broadmoor, but it was worth every penny for the quality of both the food and service we received. The drinks were delicious, though I ordered an old fashioned and was brought a manhattan. I never did receive the old fashioned, so I can't speak on that, but usually I'm not a fan of manhattans and this one was superb.
For dessert, my daughter had the cookie with ice cream and I had the creme brûlée. Both were absolutely delicious, though my favorite was probably the creme brûlée. I've not had creme brûlée where the fruit was also in the custard before, and I thought that lent a nice touch to both the flavor and texture of the dessert.
The guest service at the Broadmoor is excellent, and it doesn't stop at the Tavern restaurant. Our server was very attentive, friendly, and he brought a good amount of humor.
While the dinner was on the pricier side, we really enjoyed our meal. From appetizers to desserts, the food was top-notch. The cocktails were splendid, as well.
I used to like the seafood tower here. Guess the portion for brunch option shrinks a whole lot.
Nice ambience especially for the courtyard like Le Jardin room with the seasonal floral and wall painting of Seine riversidewalk, panoramic skylight and stunning 16 foot artistic chandelier. Although the restaurant is renown for its steak, but some of its French plates for lunch are also quite good and more in tone with the surroundings. Heard most of the wines here are over 15 years of age and the restaurant was opened by Penrose as a response to his objection to the prohibition. The Bottle Alley right by the restaurant shows the wines served during the prohibition years. The service is up to the standard you would expect from Broadmoor. Here are their Ocean Platter with oysters from the Pacific, Atlantic and Gulf Coasts, Slow Cooked Beef Bourguignon , Steak & Frites and Caramel Apple Cheesecake.
Outstanding fine dining experience in a beautiful setting. Service was friendly, and very knowledgeable. They did not rush us and allowed us to enjoy the meal and the atmosphere. You need to walk the grounds of the hotel before / after your mean - absolutely gorgeous. Truly a special place and will dine there during my next visit. Only regret is that I did not reserve a table in their enclosed patio - that one is on me!
