Blue Heron

I went to Great Blue Heron with my father to try the Pasta Bar night. I was happily satisfied with my meal at the Blue Heron. The Pasta Bar had many options to choose from and they have several great appetizers. The staff is friendly and attentive. I would say the atmosphere is a bit dated but it wasn’t uncomfortable to be in. Overall had a goodnight at the Great Blue Heron.

The Great Blue Heron catered my wedding at The Barn at Stoney Hills. We did the semi-plated build your own pasta bar option which worked really well - the salads, bread and water carafes were at the tables and then guests went through a buffet line for their main meal. Food was good and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I especially liked the salad ("strawberry fields") and their bread with whipped butter is also very good. They did our dessert table as well which was an assortment of brownies and bars. I only had a brownie myself (which was delicious!) but I heard good things about the bars. They also did our appetizers and offered a coffee bar which was great! Paul, the catering manager, is very professional and easy to work with. He did a great job and clearly knows what he's doing and takes great pride in his work. I had no concerns about the food during my wedding day, I was able to not even have to think about it, knowing that Paul had it under control. I also really liked that they served the head table family style so that we did not have to go through the buffet line. All of the staff were very kind and professional. I would recommend Great Blue Heron Catering for your wedding or event!

We were married at the Great Blue Heron in fall of 2020 and that was not an easy time for anything but, you’d never know it! Chrissy and Nic were absolutely fabulous from the day we booked and through the entire wedding experience. They have recently remodeled the banquet room, making them a true hidden gem. The food was fabulous & we got endless compliments on how smooth the entire day was.

We had a wedding in Paynesville, MN in August 2021 and Great Blue Heron food catered, they were phenomenal! The food was fresh and absolutely delicious, everyone raved about it at our wedding. We went with one meal for all: Parmesan encrusted chicken (recommended to us by the chef), gouda potatoes, prince edwards veggies, and a summer strawberry salad. Everything was perfect. I could not have asked for better catered food at our wedding for a better price, and excellent communication throughout. We highly recommend them for any event!

We had our wedding catered at the Barn at Stoney Hills in Cushing, MN by Paul & the Blue Heron staff this past weekend and I couldn't have better things to say about the food and service. The whole experience of working and with Paul from start to finish was outstanding and I would highly recommend them to cater your wedding! The dinner and appetizer menu features many different and unique options and Paul worked with us to do small customizations to fit perfectly together. Noah and I were able to do a tasting last year during the planning process which was really helpful. We also had an addition of 9 family members who hadn't RSVPd (yikes!), and Paul was kind enough to add 9 additional meals week-of. He checked in often in the weeks leading up to the wedding and I never had one ounce of worry leading into the evening which I was very thankful for. The whole team was so professional - smiling faces throughout the whole evening, prompt clean-up, and our family had nothing but wonderful reviews of the food. So thankful to the Great Blue Heron and 100% give a 5/5 start review!

A “Huge” shout out the Nic, Kathy and the staff for an amazing Refuge Ball 2022 meal. The food was catered in for our annual event at the Waters Church in Sartell Mn March 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The roast beef melted in my mouth, the potatoes and veggies were so full of flavor. Usually I salt everything twice, but the the savory flavoring was to die for. And the rolls, the only thing wrong with them was that I didn’t have more of them. Super Yummy!! Thank you so much for an AMAZING Meal!
