From Scratch

First time visit on Sunday evening for take out. Servers were polite, friendly, and helpful. My hubby and I ordered fried fish with different sides. We got 2 hot, nicely seasoned, large pieces of fish with rice and 2 sides. Everything was tasty however the Green Beans and Cabbage were both over cooked. The Mac and Cheese was nice and cheesy but too salty. The lemonade was sugary sweet which I enjoyed with plenty of ice. All in all "From Scratch Restaurant" is definitely worth trying again because of good service, fresh food, and generous portions of comfort food at affordable prices.

I give it 5 stars for the food and nice girl they had at the counter. Other then that we waited 45 mins for food. Kinda crazy they don't serve you at tables you have to walk up cafeteria style. Get your food in to go boxes. It really didn't feel like a restaurant at that point. Next time we know just to order our food ahead of time. Give them at least 40mins to get it together. The last time I came it was so cool home like. Not sure what's going on anymore with them. This was a really great place.

I just tried From Scratch Kitchen for the first time tonight and I have to say the food was fantastic. I ordered the $5 chicken tender basket and my girlfriend ordered the BBQ chicken dinner with candied yams and fries. The chicken tenders were huge (about 6 inches long and 1.5 inches across) and cooked to perfection. The flavor profile very much reminded me of Popeye's, but for the money, you get a MUCH better deal here. My girlfriend loved the BBQ chicken and the candied yams. We both thought the fries were pretty standard but that's certainly not a bad thing. In total, the dinner cost us about $15 and we were very satisfied with the meal. I do think the owners should consider investing in some additional front-of-house staff as the woman who was taking orders appeared to be a bit overwhelmed. Considering this place is just a slight detour on my way home from work, I imagine I will be back frequently.

Outstanding! From the outside it doesn't look like much, but once inside we were greeted with attentive wait staff and listened to the grooves of cool jazz while we waited for our home cooked deliciousness. We both got the catfish dinner, which were excellent. We could tell they were freshly prepared to order. Well worth the wait and will definitely return!

The food was AMAZING! It came out hot-hot! The taste of the oxtails made me want to slap....well, someone ELSE'S mom (im not crazy lol). The portion sizes are perfect! They have a friendly group working inside as well. You will want to get a few to-go items unless you want to be controlled by your taste buds and keep making multiple trips to them. Overall pleasurable experience for me!

Very good southern style cuisine; mostly from scratch. Ox tails were cooked to perfection. The mac n cheese was delightful and the fried oakra were seasoned to perfection. Prices are reasonable and service is with a smile. The only drawback is that, the time from order to serve, for dine in was long. Also, some items were not available for order, even though they were on the menu. Be prepared for a looping wait, no matter what time you come. This is my new "craving" place to be. The food has a yummy taste and you get a good amount of food to eat! The waitress are very nice and prices are great too! Would I go back? Yes indeed! I'm looking to make it back there about every three weeks because I live 20 minutes away. The minute you open the menu, it speaks to you. When my eyes beheld the chicken and waffles the menu shouted at me. I ordered it quickly with collards and Mac and cheese. What a heavenly delicious meal. The waffles were piping hot, the chicken breast was lightly fried with the perfect peppery coating. The collards were superbly cooked and seasoned the mac and cheese even outdoes my mother's (sorry Mom). If you are looking for a place for food that will just reach out give you a hug while making your taste buds dance for joy, get yourself over to From Scratch. I know you will be happy you did
